THOUGH there is nothing in this Introduction but what divines are well acquainted with, yet it may not be displeasing to them to see so many particulars alluded to in the scriptures, and dispersed up and down in the works of the learned, brought together and handled in one Treatise. It was chiefly intended for students in divinity, who have not the opportunity, or perhaps the ability, of coming at those voluminous works that treat of the many curious as well as necessary points here discussed.
