THE Publisher having been favoured by a friend with a copy of the following interesting Biography, which was printed at Calcutta, conceives that it could not but be acceptable to this country, which is so materially interested in whatever is connected with its vast poffeffions in India.

As it is a work which will probably excite a very general interest, he has thought it most advisable to print it in octavo, whereby it could be afforded at considerably less than half the price of the quarto original.
