No. 3.

O! with pure devotion
May each heart be filled;
Haste to yonder cradle,
Worship ye the Child.

Long-desired salvation
Comes to bless mankind;
Our God's loving-kindness
Yours it is to find.

Lo, the night of evil.
Soon will pass away;
Full and free redemption

Brings a brighter day.

Worship ye!

Praise to the Newly-born

Here do we bring,

Praise to our LORD do we sing.

No. 4.

When onward I am gazing,
I read distress and wrath;
I hear the tramp of nations,
Destruction round their path.

But now a cheerful morning
O'erspreads the weary earth,
Once more is hope up-springing,
To greet the Saviour's birth.

*Forget, O man, thy sorrow,
Break off the chains of sin;
All they that live to JESUS,
True life in heaven shall win.*

* This verse is sometimes sung as a separate Anthem.

GADE.

SAVIOUR of men, we know that for ever Thou livest:
We know that to the dead resurrection Thou givest:
Yea, all them that are sleeping, from the grave Thou wilt

So that, to life restored, we shall see Thou art glorious;
When as Death, over whom this day Thou art victorious,
Has fled before the LORD and King.
