No. 3

PSALM XXXIX. 4. LORD, make me to know the measure of my days on earth; to consider my frailty, that I must perish.

5. Surely all my days here are as an handbreadth to Thee, and my lifetime is nought to Thee.

6, 5. Verily, mankind walketh in a vain show, and his best state is altogether vanity. He passeth away like a shadow: he is disquieted in vain; he heapeth up riches, and cannot tell who shall gather them.

7. Now, LORD, O what do I wait for? my hope is in Thee.

WISDOM iii. 1. But the righteous souls are in the hand of GOD: nor pain nor grief shall nigh them come.

PSALM lxxxiv. 1. How lovely is Thy dwelling-place, O LORD of Hosts!

2. For my soul it longeth, yea, fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my soul and body crieth out, yea, for the living GOD.

4. Blest are they that dwell within Thy house, they praise Thy Name evermore.

1. How lovely is Thy dwelling-place.

ST. JOHN xvi. 22. Ye now are sorrowful: howbeit, ye shall again behold Me, and your heart shall be joyful, and your joy no man taketh from you.

ISAIAH lxvi. 13. Yea, I will comfort you, as one whom his own mother comforteth. Look upon Me: ye know that for a little time labour and sorrow were Mine, but at the last I have found comfort.

HEBREWS Xiii. 14. Here on earth we have no continuing city, we seek one to come.

I CORINTHIANS XV. 51, 52. I unfold you a mystery; we shall not all sleep when He cometh, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the sound of the trumpet: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we all shall be changed.

54. Then what of old was written? the same shall be brought to pass: for death is swallowed up in victory. 55. Grave, where is thy triumph? Death, O where is thy sting?

REVELATION iv. 11. Worthy art Thou to be praised, LORD of honour and might: for Thou hast earth and heaven created, and for Thy good pleasure all things have their being, and were created. LORD, Thou art worthy to be praised.

PSALM 1x. 1. O GOD, Thou hast cast us out, and scattered us abroad: Thou hast also been displeased, O turn Thee unto us again.

2. Thou hast moved the land, and divided it: heal the sores thereof, for it shaketh.

4. Thou hast given a banner to them that fear Thee, that they may triumph because of the truth.

5. Therefore were Thy beloved delivered.

xciv. 12, 13. Blessed is the man whom Thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him in Thy law: that Thou mayest give him patience in time of adversity.

XC. I. LORD, Thou hast been our refuge from one generation to another.

4. For a thousand years in Thy sight are but as yesterday, seeing that is past as a watch in the night.

2. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever the earth and the world were made, Thou art GOD, from everlasting, and world without end.

17. Prosper Thou the work of our hands upon us: 0 prosper Thou our handy-work.

ACTS xiv. 23. And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the LORD on Whom they had believed.

ISAIAH Ixi. 6. They shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call them the Ministers of our God.

8. The LORD will direct their work in truth, and He will make an everlasting covenant with them.

LORD, pour Thy Spirit from on high,
And Thine ordained servants bless.
Graces and gifts to each supply,

And clothe Thy Priests with righteousness.
So when their work is finished here,

They may in hope their charge resign,

So when their Master shall appear,

They may with crowns of glory shine. Amen.

PSALM lvii. 1. Be merciful unto me, O GOD, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in Thee: yea, in the shadow of Thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.

2. I will cry unto GOD Most High, unto GOD that performeth all things for me.

3. He shall send from Heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. GOD shall send forth His mercy and His truth.

4. My soul is among lions, and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.

5. Set up Thyself, O GOD, above the heavens, and Thy glory above all the earth.

6. They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, and are fallen into the midst of it themselves.

5. Set up Thyself, O GOD, above the heavens, and Thy glory above all the earth.

7. My heart is fixed, O GOD, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

8. Awake up, my glory; awake, lute and harp; I myself will awake right early.

9. I will praise Thee, O LORD, among the people: I will sing unto Thee among the nations.

10. For Thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and Thy truth unto the clouds.

II. Set up Thyself, O GOD, above the heavens: let Thy glory be above all the earth.

2. For the LORD is high, and to be feared: He is the great King upon all the earth.

3. He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet.

4. He shall choose out an heritage for us, even the worship of Jacob, whom He loved.

5. GOD is gone up with a merry noise, and the LORD with the sound of the trumpet.

6. O sing praises, sing praises unto our God; O sing praises, sing praises unto our King.
