12. Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? Behold and see, if there be any sorrow like my sorrow.

15. The LORD hath trodden under foot all my mighty men in the midst of me: He hath called an assembly against me, to crush my young men: the LORD hath trodden under foot the virgin, the daughter of Judah.

16. For these things I weep: mine eye runneth down with water because the Comforter that should relieve my soul is far from me.

II. See, O LORD, and consider, for I am become vile.

2 SAMUEL i. 19. Thy beauty, O Israel, is slain upon thy high places: how are the mighty fallen!

20. Tell it not in Gath, publish it not in the streets of Askelon, lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph.

21. Ye mountains of Gilboa, let there be no dew, neither let there be rain upon you, nor fields of offerings: for there the shield of the mighty is vilely cast away, the shield of Saul, as though he had not been anointed with

oil.

22. From the blood of the slain, from the fat of the mighty, the bow of Jonathan turned not back, and the sword of Saul returned not empty.

23. Saul and Jonathan were lovely and pleasant in their lives, and in their death they were not divided.

24. Ye daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, who clothed you in scarlet, who put on ornaments of gold upon your apparel.

25. How are the mighty fallen in the midst of the battle! O Jonathan, thou wast slain in thine high places.

26. I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan : very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women.

27. How are the mighty fallen, and the weapons of war perished!

ISAIAH lii. 1. Awake, awake, put on thy strength, O Sion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, thou holy city.

2. Shake thyself from the dust, O Jerusalem, thou holy city loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Sion.

7. How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth glad tidings of peace, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Sion, Thy GOD reigneth!

9. Break forth into joy, Hallelujah! sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem; break forth into joy, Hallelujah! For the LORD hath comforted His people, He hath redeemed Jerusalem.

10. The LORD hath made bare His holy arm in the sight of all nations, and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our GOD. Hallelujah.

ISAIAH xl. 3. Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our GOD.

4. Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places shall be made plain.

5. And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.

6. And the voice said, Cry. What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and the goodliness thereof is as the flower that is in the field.

8. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of the LORD shall stand fast for ever.

9. O Zion, that bringest glad tidings, get thee up into the mountains: O Jerusalem, that bringest glad tidings, lift up thy voice with strength, and say unto Judah, Behold thy GOD.

I CORINTHIANS XV. 20. Now is CHRIST risen from the dead, and He shall take me from among them that sleep. JOB Xix. 26, 27. And hereafter shall I be clothed with this my body; and in my flesh shall I see GOD; Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another.

(Sung at the same time as the above.)

My life is hid in JESUS,

And death is gain to me;
Then, whensoe'er He pleases,
I meet it willingly.

PSALM lxxi. 1. In Thee, O LORD, have I put my trust, let me never be put to confusion: but rid me, and deliver me, in Thy righteousness; incline Thine ear unto me, and save me.

4. For Thou, O LORD GOD, art the thing that I long for: Thou art my hope, even from my youth.

5. Through Thee have I been holden up ever since I was born: Thou art He that took me out of my mother's womb; my praise shall be always of Thee.

[10. Go not far from me, O GOD: my GOD, haste Thee to help me.]

18. O what great troubles and adversities hast Thou shewed me; yet didst Thou turn and refresh me: yea, and broughtest me from the deep of the earth again.

20. Therefore will I praise Thee and Thy faithfulness, O GOD, playing upon an instrument of musick: unto Thee will I sing, O Thou Holy One of Israel.

21. My lips shall be fain when I sing unto Thee and so will my soul whom Thou hast delivered. Hallelujah.

10. Glad tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

PSALM 1xxxvi. 1. Bow down Thine ear, O LORD, and hear me for I am poor, and in misery.

[2. Preserve Thou my soul, for I am holy: my GOD, save Thy servant that putteth his trust in Thee.]

3. Be merciful unto me, O LORD: for I will call daily upon Thee.

4. Comfort the soul of Thy servant, for unto Thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.

5. For Thou, LORD, art good and gracious, and of great mercy unto all them that call upon Thee.

[6. Give ear, O LORD, unto my prayer, and ponder the voice of my humble desires.

7. In the time of my trouble I will call upon Thee, for Thou hearest me.]

8. Among the gods there is none like unto Thee, [O LORD:] there is none that can do as Thou doest.

[9. All nations whom Thou hast made shall come and worship Thee, O LORD, and shall glorify Thy Name.] 10. For Thou art great, and doest wondrous things: Thou art God alone.

II. Teach me Thy way, O LORD, and I will walk in Thy truth: O knit my heart unto Thee, that I may fear Thy Name.

12. And I will thank Thee, O LORD my GOD, with all my heart, and will praise Thy Name for evermore.

[13. For great is Thy mercy toward me: and Thou hast delivered my soul from the nethermost hell.

14. O GOD, the proud are risen against me, and the congregations of naughty men have sought after my soul, and have not set Thee before their eyes.]

15. But Thou, O LORD GOD, art full of compassion and mercy: long-suffering, plenteous in goodness and truth, 16. O turn Thee then unto me, and have mercy upon me: [give Thy strength unto Thy servant and help the son of Thine handmaid.]

PSALM XIX. 12. LORD, *who can tell how oft he offendeth? O cleanse Thou me from my secret faults.

13. Keep Thy servant from presumptuous sins, lest they get the dominion over me: so shall I be undefiled, and innocent from the great offence.

14, 15. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be always acceptable in Thy sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer.
