I shall now conclude my observations upon a work which is an honor to the English. I have only taken a general view of some of the beautiful Plays of Shakspeare being unable to enlarge my remarks upon the several othor Plays of the author, I must confess that I have not only shewn that the poem is beautiful in general, but have taken pains to descend to particulars, and to quote several beautiful passages from the author. I have endeavored to shew how the poet has in some parts of his work described the nature of love, terror, anger, and all other passions, how some of his passages are beautiful by being sublime, others by being natural; which of them are soft, which express anger, and which convey to the poind of the audience all the sentiments of terror! I have likewise taken every occasion to shew how the rapid genius of the great poet shines every where in the whole of his work, by a happy invention of his own without any kind of imitation. In short I have particularized all kinds of beauty, which it would be tedious for myself now to re

capitulate, but at the same time I must observe that those beauties are not to be found in any other author than the great English bard. Should I have the good fortune to receive any encouragement from the Public, I shall take another occasion to make my remarks upon other Plays of

Shakspeare.
