DESCRIPTION OF THE ENGRAVING.

PROMENADE DRESS.-Robe of a dark shade of dustcoloured pou de Soie. The corsage is half-high and plain; the sleeves are tight on the shoulder, and at the upper part, with a little, but very little fulness in the centre. A deep flounce of the same material, with a heading to correspond, is set on moderately full, round the border of the skirt. The mantilla corresponds with the dress. Tuscan bonnet, a round brim of a moderate size, the interior ornamented with tulle, and a single corn flower. Perpendicular crown, trimmed with violet velvet, and a bouquet of corn flowers.

HOME DRESS OF A PARIS LADY.-The robe is composed of a new silk, buzin des Indes; the corsage low and square, is tight to the shape, and trimmed with a flat band of black velvet ribbon round the top. Short tight sleeves, ornamented with knots of black velvet ribbon, and black lace ruffles of an antique pattern. Ceinture of black velvet ribbon with floating ends. Pelerine fichu of black spotted lace, bordered with double grounded lace of moderate breadth. Black lace mittens. The hair is disposed in a low knot at the back of the head, and a profusion of corkscrew ringlets at the sides.
