Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay.

Isa. 32.5. The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said to be bountiful. 6. His heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the Lord. Isa. 33.14. The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites.

Isa. 48.1. Which swear by the name of the Lord, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness. 2. For they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel.

Isa. 58.2. They seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God. 3. Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours.

Isa. 58.4. Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high. 5. Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the Lord?

Isa. 61.8. I hate robbery for burnt-offering. Jer. 3.10. Her treacherous sister Judah hath not turned unto me with her whole heart, but feignedly, saith the Lord. v. 11.

Jer. 5.2. Though they say, The Lord liveth; surely they swear falsely.

Jer. 6.20. To what purpose cometh there to me incense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt-offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices sweet

unto me.

Jer. 7.8. Ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit. 9. Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not; 10. And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations?

Jer. 12.2. Thou art near in their mouth, and far from their reins.

Jer. 42.20. Ye dissembled in your hearts, when ye sent me unto the Lord your God, saying, Pray for us unto the Lord our God; and according unto all that the Lord our God shall say, so declare unto us, and we will do it. v. 21,22.

Eze. 14.7. Every one which separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumbling block of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to a prophet to enquire of him concerning me; I the Lord will answer him by myself: 8. And I will set my face against that man, and will make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people; and ye shall know that I am the Lord. v. 4.

Eze. 20.39. Go ye, serve ye every one his idols, and hereafter also, if ye will not hearken unto me: but pollute ye my holy name no more with your gifts, and with your idols. Eze. 5.11. Hos. 8.13. Hos. 9.4.

Eze. 33.30. The children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the Lord. 31. And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness. 32. And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.

Hos. 6.4. O Judah, what shall I do unto thee? for your goodness is as a morning cloud, and as the early dew it goeth away.

Hos. 7.14. They have not cried unto me with their heart, when they howled upon their beds: 16. They return, but not to the most High: they are like a deceitful bow.

Hos. 8.2. Israel shall cry unto me, My God, we know thee. 3. Israel hath cast off the thing that is good: the enemy shall pursue him.

Amos 5.21. I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies. 23. Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols. 24. But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream. v. 22,25-27.

Mic. 3.11. The priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the Lord, and say, Is not the Lord among us?
