SUNDAY EVENING.

Portions of Psalms to be read, one or more, before the Prayers.

I.

I will alway give thanks unto the Lord: his praise shall ever be in my mouth.

My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.

O praise the Lord with me, and let us magnify his Name together.

I sought the Lord, and he heard me: yea, he delivered me out of all my fear.

O taste, and see, how gracious the Lord is: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

O fear the Lord, ye that are his saints; for they that fear him lack nothing.

The eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers.

The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a contrite heart, and will save such as be of an humble spirit.

Thy mercy, O Lord, reacheth unto the heavens, and thy faithfulness unto the clouds.

Thy righteousness standeth like the strong mountains thy judgments are like the great deep.

Thou, Lord, shalt save both man and beast: how excellent is thy mercy, O God; and the children of

men shall put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

They shall be satisfied with the plenteousness of thy house; and thou shalt give them drink of thy pleasures, as out of the river.

For with thee is the well of life; and in thy light shall we see light.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Psalms xxix, and xxxvi.

II.

It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy Name, O most Highest :

To tell of thy loving-kindness early in the morning, and of thy truth in the night season.

For thou, Lord, hast made me glad through thy works; and I will rejoice in giving praise for the operations of thy hands.

O Lord, how glorious are thy works! thy thoughts are very deep.

An unwise man doth not well consider this, and a fool doth not understand it.

O ye that love the Lord, see that ye hate the

thing which is evil: the Lord preserveth the souls of his saints.

There is sprung up a light for the righteous, and joyful gladness for such as are true-hearted.

Rejoice in the Lord, ye righteous, and give thanks for a remembrance of his holiness.

The righteous shall flourish like a palm-tree, and shall spread abroad like a cedar in Libanus.

Such as are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of the house of our God.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Psalms xcii. and xcvii.

A SCRIPTURE HYMN'.

Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty just and true are thy ways, thou King of Saints.

Who would not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee.

Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, the be

ginning and the end, the first and the last; which art, and wast, and shalt be.

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour, and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are, and were created.

Worthy art thou, O Lamb of God, to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing:

For thou wast slain, and by thy blood hast redeemed us to God.

Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God, and to the Lamb for ever. Amen and Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Rev. xv. iv. xxii. xvi. v. vii.

LET US PRAY.

For the acceptance of our Prayers.

Almighty God, who hast promised to hear the petitions of them that ask in thy Son's name, we beseech thee mercifully to accept the Prayers and Thanksgivings we have this day offered in thy house; and grant that what we have imperfectly asked may effectually be obtained, to the relief of our necessities, and to the setting forth of thy glory; through the same, thy Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

For a Blessing on the Word.

Commun. Collects.

Almighty God, the Fountain of all wisdom, who hast this day sown in us the seed of Thy Word, suffer not the wicked one to come and catch it away from our hearts. Let not the cares of the world, nor the lusts and pleasures of this life, choke it, so that it become unfruitful. But give us that honest and good heart, which not only hears but understands the Word, and receives, and keeps it, and brings forth fruit abundantly, unto life everlasting; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.
