E have heard with our ears, O Lord, and our fathers have told us of thy mighty works, that thou hast done in the time of old: how thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plant them in; for they got not the land by their own sword; it was not their own arm that helped them, but it was thy right hand, thine arm, and the light of thy countenance. Verse. Four Voices.-Thou art my King, O God; send help unto Jacob. Chorus.-Through thee will we overthrow our enemies; and in thy name will we tread them down that rise up against us. I PSALM CXVI. AM well pleased that the Lord hath heard the voice of my prayer: that he hath inclined his ear unto me; therefore will I call upon him as long as I live. The Lord preserveth the simple: when I was in misery he delivered me. Turn again then unto thy rest, O my soul, for the Lord hath rewarded thee; for he hath delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, my feet from falling.
