TRINITY.

GOD, the protector of all that trust in thee, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy; increase and multiply upon us thy mercy; that, thou being our ruler and guide, we may so pass through things temporal, that we finally lose not the things eternal: grant this, O heavenly father, for Jesus Christ's sake our Lord. Amen.

PSALM IX. 7-9, I.

Chorus.

T. A. WALMISLEY.

HE Lord shall endure for ever: he hath also prepared his seat for judgment. Quartetto. He shall judge the world in righteousness and minister true judgment unto his people.

Tenor, Solo.-The Lord will be a defence for the oppressed: even a refuge in the time of trouble.

Chorus. I will give thanks unto thee, O Lord and I will sing of all thy marvellous works.

LAMENTATIONS, V. 1, 7, 15, 17, 19.

EMEMBER, O Lord, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach. Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities.

The joy of our heart is ceased: our dance is turned into mourning.

For this our heart is faint: for these things our eyes are dim.

Thou, O Lord, remainest for ever: thy throne from generation to generation.

DAY.

Set also by CHARD.

GOD the king of glory, who hast exalted thine only son Jesus Christ with great triumph unto thy kingdom in heaven: we beseech thee, leave us not comfortless; but send to us thine Holy Ghost to comfort us, and exalt us unto the same place whither our Saviour Christ is gone before, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, one God, world without end. Amen.

PSALM LI. 1-3, 12—14, 8.

Goss.

AVE mercy upon me, O God, after thy great goodness: according to the multitude of thy mercies do away mine offences.

Wash me throughly from my wickedness: and cleanse me from my sin.

For I acknowledge my faults: and my sin is ever before me.

O give me the comfort of thy help again: and stablish me with thy free spirit.

Then shall I teach thy ways unto the wicked: and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

O God, thou that art the God of

my health: my tongue shall sing of thy righteousness. Thou shalt make me hear of joy and gladness that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. Amen.

PSALM I. I-5•

LESSED is the man that hath not walked in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stood in the way of sinners: and hath not sat in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord: and in his law will he exercise himself day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the water-side that will bring forth his fruit in due season.

His leaf also shall not wither: and look, whatsoever he doeth, it shall prosper.

As for the ungodly, it is not so with them: but they are like the chaff, which the wind scattereth away from the face of the earth.

PSALM XXVI. 6, 7.

Tenor, Solo.

WILL wash my hands in innocency, and so will I go to thine altar.

For thy lovingkindness is ever before mine eyes, and I will walk in thy truths.

Chorus.—That I may shew the voice of thanksgiving and tell of all thy wondrous works.

Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
