RY me, O God, and seek the ground of my heart: prove me, and examine my thoughts.

GOD is our hope and strength: a very pre

sent help in trouble.

Therefore will we not fear, though the earth be moved and though the hills be carried into the midst of the sea.

Solo.Our fathers hoped in thee: they trusted in thee, and thou didst deliver them. Three Voices.-O be thou our help in trouble; for vain is the help of men.

Alto. I will talk of the God of Jacob: and praise him for ever.

Chorus.-All the horns of the ungodly will I break and the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.

PSALM XCIV. 2, 3, 7—II.

RISE, thou Judge of the world: reward the proud after their deserving.

Lord, how long shall the ungodly triumph? Bass. And yet they say, the Lord shall not see it neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.

Take heed, ye unwise among the people: O ye fools, when will ye understand?

He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? or he that made the eye, shall he not see?

Or he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he punish?

Three Voices and Chorus.-The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man: that they are but vain.

WILL receive the cup of salvation: and call upon the name of the Lord.

O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul. Tenor. The Lord preserveth the simple: when I was in misery he delivered me.

Two Voices.-Turn again then unto thy rest, my soul for the Lord hath rewarded thee. The dead praise not thee, O Lord: neither all they that go down into silence.

Bass.-But we will praise the Lord from this time forth for evermore.

Chorus.-Praise the Lord from this time forth for evermore. Amen.

LESSED is he that considereth the poor and needy: the Lord shall deliver him in the time of trouble.

The Lord comfort him when he lieth sick upon his bed: make thou all his bed in his sickness.

Alto, Tenor.-Bow down thine ear, O Lord, and hear me for I am poor and in misery, and like unto him that is at the point to die.

O give me the comfort of thy help again; and stablish me with thy free Spirit.

Three Voices and Chorus.-Praised be God, who hath not cast out my prayer: nor turned his mercy from me.

Alto, Tenor.-The Lord is my strength and shield my heart doth trust in him, and I am helped therefore my heart danceth for joy, and in my song will I praise him.

WILL magnify thee, O God, for thou hast set me up, and not made my foes to triumph

over me.

Five Voices.-Thou, Lord, hast delivered my soul out of hell: thou hast delivered me from them that go down into the pit.

Two Altos and Bass.-Sing unto the Lord, and praise his name; be telling of his salvation from day to day.
