AS fin opens the flood-gates of al mighty wrath upon the world, is the monstrous parent of every monftrous production, cannot but be difpleafing to that holy being with whom we have to do, nor other than deftructive of human happiness, a perfon engaged (tho' but with indifferent fuccefs,) in expofing the odioufnefs of this common and most malignant peft, and endeavouring to weaken its force, needs no other apology for appearing on the public theatre of the world. And as nothing but internal and vital religion, (religion which has its foundation in the true grace of God in the heart,) can expel the malignancy of fin, and heal the otherwife mortal wound it has made in the foul; it therefore becomes the duty and intereft of individuals, to inculcate the neceffity of this, and enforce it from the most prevalent motives.
