736. [LONGFELLOW (HENRY WADSWORTH).] Miscellaneous Poems from the United States Literary Gazette. Device of harp on title. 16mo. Superbly full bound in a rich light green crushed levant morocco, each side being divided into thirty full diagonal panels the borders of which are inlaid with lilac-colored morocco, with a row of dots in the middle of each; at the corner are larger dots, inlaid with black morocco within gilt circles. Inside each diagonal panel is an elaborately gold tooled floral ornament, each of which has three inlays of scarlet morocco, back tooled to a similar pattern to the sides, only on a slightly smaller scale; doublé with lilac-colored morocco, on each of which are 145 exquisitely tooled small roses, with leather joints, gilt edges on the rough. Bound by DE SEMBLANCK-WECKESSER.

written by Longfellow were retained in subsequent editions of
his poems.
