MISCELLANEOUS FERTILIZERS, AMENDMENTS AND WASTE PRODUCTS. WOOD ASHES. Twenty samples have been examined. No. 22959 was wet and low in potash. No. 23302 was also low grade. The other samples submitted contained from 4.80 to 7.83 per cent of potash and were of good quality. Wood ashes contain from 1 to 2.5 per cent of phosphoric acid and 30 per cent or more of lime, but they are an expensive source of potash. The prevailing price quoted is $5.00 per unit, which is about five times the cost of other equally available forms of potash. Analyses are given in Table XVIII. SHEEP MANURE, ETC. Fourteen samples of this class of materials have been analyzed, ten of which were sampled by the Station agent. Analyses are given in Table XIX.
