LESSED be the Lord | God' of | Israel: for he hath visited, and' redeemed' his people;

And hath raised up a mighty salva'tion | for us in the house of' his | ser'vant | David;

As he spake by the mouth of his

:

holy | Prophets which have been | since the | world' belgan; That we should be saved | from' our | enemies : and from the hands' of | all' that hate us; I

To perform the mercy promised to our' forefathers and to re member' his holy | Covenant;

:

[ocr errors]

To perform the oath which he sware to our fore'father | Abraham : that | he would give us ; That we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might | serve' him | with'out | fear;

In holiness and righteousness' before him all the days' of our - | life.

And thou, Child, shalt be called the Prophet | of the Highest for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to' pre pare' his | ways;

To give knowledge of salvation un to' his | people for the re mis'sion of their sins,

Through the tender mercy | of our | God: whereby the Day-spring | from' on | high' hath | visited us; To give light to them that sit in darkness, and in the shadow' of death and to guide our feet in to' the way' of peace.

:

Glory be to the Father, and | to' the | Son : and | to' the Holy Ghost;

As it was in the beginning, is now, and | e'ver | shall be world with'out | end. Almen.

BE joyful in the Lord, | all' ye | lands serve the Lord with gladness, and come before his | pre'sence with a song.

:

Be ye sure that the Lord | he' is | God it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the | sheep of his | pasture.

O go your way into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts' with | praise : be thankful unto him, and speak' good | of his | Name.

For the Lord is gracious, his mercy is everlasting and his truth endureth from generation' to generation.

Glory be to the Father, and to' the | Son: and | to' the Holy Ghost;

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be world | with'out | end.' Amen.

WH

Faith.

:

QUICUNQUE VULT.

HOSOEVER will be | sav'ed: before all things it is necessary that he hold the Catholick

Which Faith except every one do keep whole and | unde'filed: without doubt he shall perish everlastingly.

And the Catholick Faith | is this: That we worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity in | Unity; Neither confounding the' Persons : nor dividing the Substance.

For there is one Person of the Father, another of the Son and another of the Holy Ghost.

But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, is | all' one: the Glory equal, the Majesty co-eternal.

Such as the Father is, | such is the' Son : and such is the Holy Ghost.

The Father uncreate, the Son | uncre'ate and the Holy Ghost un create.

The Father incomprehensible, the Son incompre'hensible and the Holy Ghost incomprehensible. The Father eternal, the | Son e'ternal and the Holy Ghost eternal.

:

And yet they are not three e'ternals: but one eternal.
