Robert Carraccioli, (in Latin Carrazolus) better known under the name of Robert de Licio, or Litio, because he was a native of Lecce, in the Province of Otranto, in the kingdom of Naples, was born in 1425, and entered as a monk into the order of Minors Observantine, whence he passed into that of the Conventuals. He was a man of great learning, and a famous preacher, not sparing the court of Rome, although much caressed by the Popes, and employed by them on many important occasions; he was made Bishop of Aquino, and died at Lecce in 1495.
