Es wird versichert, daß man vermirs telst dieser Preße in vier Stunden mehr drucken kann, als in zwölf Stunden auf der gewöhnlichen Preße. Im Schriftschneiden hat Stanhope große Verbesserungen ans gebracht, so daß das ganze Verfahren äußerst vereins facht und erleichtert ist. Endlich hat er neue Schrifts kasten erdacht, wodurch die Lettern vor dem schnellen Abnutzen bewahrt werden: man kann sie kaufen bey dem Zimmermann Keeton, Brewerstreet, Golden Square, London. Der Seher erhält dadurch eine Erleichterung in seiner Arbeit, so daß er mit Einrechnung des Vortheils der gedachten Doppellettern Eine Stunde in sech= sen ersparen kann. Der große Buchdrucker Bulmes bes dient fich der Stanhope'schen Preße schon seit etlichen Jahren, aber es fehlt ihm die Fårbewalze und andre Verbesserungen. [Da diese Angaben nach einer Unterhaltung in dffentlicher Gesellschaft, wo man nicht nå= here Erläuterungen fordern konnte, aus der Erinnerung zu Papier gebracht wurden, so wird man verzeihen, wenn sie nicht bestimmt oder deutlich genug sind.
