CAPTAIN BLISSET, an Englishman of birth and large fortune, had commanded an English line of battle ship during the late war; but his vessel having been paid off at the gene, ral peace in 1815, he found himself without professional occupation to engage his time, and being of an active mind and enterprising dis position, determined to devote the leisure he How enjoyed to the purpose of extending his knowledge of foreign countries; with this view he had fortunately obtained an appointment from the English government, which had given him in charge to conduct Mirza Abul Hassan Khan, the Persian Ambassador, so far as the shores of Asia, on his return from England to his native country.
