offered their sons and their daughters un{to devils;

37 And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daugh--ters: whom they offered unto the idols of Canaan ; and the land was defi}led with blood.

38 Thus were they stained with their own -works : and went a whoring with their own { in-ventions.

39 Therefore was the wrath of the Lord kindled against his | peo---ple : insomuch that he abhorred his own in he---rit | ance.

40 And he gave them over into the hand of the hea---then : and they that hated them were lords į 0---ver them.

41 Their enemies oppressed -- them : and had them in sub---jection.

42 Many a time did he deli | ver --- them : but they rebelled against him with their own inventions, and were brought down in their { wick--ed | ness.

43 Nevertheless, when he saw their adver | si-:-ty : he heard their -- complaint.

44 He thought upon his covenant, and pitied them, according unto the multitude of his | mer-'. cies : yea, he made all those that led them away captive to pi-:-ty them.

45 Deliver us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the hea--then : that we may give thanks unto thy holy Name, and make our boast है of --- thy praise.

46 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting, and world with | out end : and let all the people say, Amen.

PSALM CVII. Confitemini Domino. 其 0

GIVE thanks unto the Lord, for he is | gra-

cious : and his mercy endur{eth for e-'-ver. 2 Let them give thanks whom the Lord hath re | deem--ed : and delivered from the hand of ļ the -- en e--my ;

3 And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the --- west : from the north, { and

from the --- south.

4 They went astray in the wilderness out of the -- way : and found no ci{ty to | dwell -- in ;

5 Hungry and thirs--ty : their soul { faint--ed | in -- them.

6 So they cried unto the Lord in their | trou-'ble : and he delivered them from their | dis-'tress.

7 He led them forth by the right they might go to the city -- where they ---dwelt.

8 O that men would therefore praise the Lord for his good-:-ness : and declare the wonders that he doeth for the chil-'-dren of --- men !

9 For he satisfieth the empty - soul : and filleth the hungry soul -- with good---ness.

11 Because they rebelled against the words of the

Lord : and lightly regarded the counsel of the -- most | High---est;

12 He also brought down their heart through hea | vi--ness : they fell down, and there was į none

to help them.

13 So when they cried unto the Lord in their trou---ble : he delivered them out of

their 1 dis-i-tress.

14 For he brought them out of darkness, and out of the shadow of death : and brake their { bonds -- in | sun--der.

15 0 that men would therefore praise the Lord for his good---nese : and declare the wonders that he doeth for the chil---dren of men ! 16 For he hath broken the gates of

brass : and smitten the bars of i{ron in | sun--der.

17 Foolish men are plagued for their | of--fence : and because of their -- wicked---ness.

18 Their soul abhorred all manner of --- meat : and they were even

at | death's -- door. 19 So when they cried unto the Lord in their | trou--ble : he delivered them out of their | dis---tress.

20 He sent his word, and heal | ed them : and they were saved from their de struc-:-tion.

21 O that men would therefore praise the Lord for his | good---ness : 'and declare the wonders that he doeth for the chil-:-dren of -- men !

22 That they would offer unto him the sacrifice of thanks giv---ing : and tell out his { works with glad---ness.

24 These men see the works of the --- Lord : and his wonders in | the deep.

25 For at his word the stormy wind a | ri---seth : which lifteth up { the --- waves there---of.

26 They are carried up to the heaven, and down again to the --- deep , their soul melteth away because { of the trou-'-ble.

28 So when they cry unto the Lord in their | trou---ble : he delivereth them out of dis-i-tress.

29 For he maketh the storm | to --- cease : so that the waves { there---of | are --- still.

30 Then are they glad, because they are at --rest : and so he bringeth them unto the haven where -'

32 That they would exalt him also in the congregation of the peo--ple : and praise him in the seat of --- the el---ders !

33 Who turneth the floods into a wilder-'-ness : and drieth

--- water springs. 34 A fruitful land maketh he / bar---ren : for the wickedness of them that dwell there---in.

35 Again, he maketh the wilderness a standing | wa--ter: and water-springs { of a | dry ground.

36 And there he setteth the hun--gry : that they may build them a ci{ty --- to dwell

39 And again, when they are minished, and brought -- low : through oppression, through any plague, -- or trou--ble;

40 Though he suffer them to be evil intreated through | ty---rants : and let them wander out of the way in the

wild | er-'-ness ; 41 Yet helpeth he the poor out of mise---ry: and maketh him households like { a --- flock of sheep.

42 The righteous will consider this, and re-'joice : and the mouth of all wickedness { shall --be | stop-ó-ped.
