THE FIRST SUNDAY AFTER THE EPIPHANY.

THE COLLECT.

Ambros. Greg. S.M.

LORD, we beseech Thee mercifully to receive the prayers of Thy people which call upon Thee; and grant that they may both perceive and know what things they ought to do, and also may have grace and power faithfully to fulfil the same; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

THE FIRST SUNDAY AFTER THE EPIPHANY.

O Lord, we now beseech Thee,
Listen to thy people's plea ;
Bow Thine ear to our request,
For we on Thy mercy rest.

To our dim and feeble sight,
Manifest Thy healing light,
That we may perceive and know
All things that we ought to do.
And that we may e'er fulfil
All Thy good and perfect will,
Grace and power to us afford,
For the sake of Christ our Lord.

AMEN.

THE SECOND SUNDAY AFTER THE

EHIPHANY.

THE COLLECT.

Ambros. Greg. S.M.

LMIGHTY and everlasting God, who dost govern all things in Heaven and earth; mercifully hear the supplications of Thy people, and grant us Thy peace all the days of our life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

THE SECOND SUNDAY AFTER THE EPIPHANY.

O Lord, who in power dost reign,
And the same unchanged remain,
And all by Thy rule restrain,

In earth and heaven,

Our prayers in Thy mercy hear,

That Thy peace our hearts may cheer,

All the days we sojourn here,

Through Jesus given.

AMEN.

THE THIRD SUNDAY AFTER THE

EPIPHANY.

THE COLLECT.

Ambros. Greg. S.M.

LMIGHTY and everlasting God, mercifully look upon our infirmities, and in all our dangers and necessities stretch forth Thy right hand to help and defend us; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

THE THIRD SUNDAY AFTER THE EPIPHANY.

God of power, Ancient of days,

Hear the prayer Thy servants raise,
And look down with pitying eye

On our oft infirmity.

In necessities when bound,
When our dangers close around,
May Thy hand assistance yield,
Now a sword, and now a shield.
Rise and grant us this defence,
From assault and violence,
And Thy light and help afford,
For the sake of Christ our Lord.

AMEN.

THE FOURTH SUNDAY AFTER THE

EPIPHANY.

THE COLLECT.

Greg. S.M. Altered at the Revision of 1662.

GOD, who knowest us to be set in the midst of so many and great dangers, that by reason of the frailty of our nature we cannot always stand upright; grant to us such strength and protection, as may support us in all dangers, and carry us through all temptations; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

THE FOURTH SUNDAY AFTER THE EPIPHANY.

Thou, to whom our fears are known,

Lovingly thine ear bow down,
As beset with dangers dread,
We the path of peril tread.

And because through nature frail,
When our enemies assail,
Seldom can we stand upright,
'Gainst the foeman in the fight,

Give us strength when we are weak,
Help, when we protection seek;
In our dangers hold our hand,
In temptation make us stand.

Now and ever, when we pray,
Grant us an accepted day,

And the present prayer we make,
Hear, O Lord, for Jesus' sake.

AMEN.

THE FIFTH SUNDAY AFTER THE

EPIPHANY.

THE COLLECT.

Ambros. Greg. S.M.

LORD, we beseech Thee to keep Thy Church and household continually in Thy true religion; that they who do lean only upon the hope of Thy heavenly grace may evermore be defended by Thy mighty power; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

THE FIFTH SUNDAY AFTER THE EPIPHANY.

Thy Church, Thy flock of folded sheep,
In bonds of true religion keep,

And guard Thy household from above,
With watchful care and tender love.
