Superintendent, LETTER OF TRANSMITTAL. U. S. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, OFFICE OF EXPERIMENT STATIONS, Washington, D. C., November 11, 1908. SIR: I have the honor to transmit herewith a manuscript containing the revised organization lists of agricultural colleges and experiment stations in the United States, which has been compiled under my direction by Miss Mary A. Agnew of this Office. It has been customary heretofore to include in these lists the names of all officers and teachers in the agricultural and mechanical colleges, but in this revision an effort has been made to confine the lists to the names of administrative officers and instructors whose work brings them in contact with students in agricultural and home economics courses, omitting those who deal exclusively with mechanic arts or engineering students. But while working to this plan, it has been found impracticable in some cases, owing to the complex organization of the institutions concerned, to make the lists entirely consistent. I recommend the publication of this manuscript as Bulletin 206, of this Office.
