* This song is found in "The Bloody Brother, or Rollo, Duke of Normandy," by Beaumont and Fletcher, Act 5, Sc. 2, with the following additional stanza :

"Hide, O hide those hills of snow,

Which thy frozen bosom bears,
On whose tops the pinks that grow
Are of those that April wears;
But first set my poor heart free,

Bound in those icy chains for thee."

There has been much controversy about the authorship, but the more probable opinion seems to be that the second stanza was added by Fletcher.
