SEC. 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER LXXX.

An Act to appropriate money to cover deficiencies therein February 13, 1865. stated, for the year eighteen hundred and sixty-four.

SECTION 1. Appropriations for deficiencies for eighteen hundred and sixty-four.

1. Deficiency of appropriation for the payinent of the salary of the Adjutant
General.

2. Deficiency of appropriation for clerk hire in the office of the Adjutant Gen-
eral.

3. Deficiency of appropriation for postage, stationery, etc., in the office of the
Adjutant General.

4. Deficiency of appropriation for State Arsenal, rent of Powder Magazine, etc.

6. Deficiency of appropriation for printing for State Officers.

6. Deficiency of appropriation for printing Laws and Journals.

7. Deficiency of appropriation for State Printer.

8. Deficiency on account of Board of Examining Surgeons.

9. Deficiency of appropriation for support of the Insane.

10. Deficiency, of appropriation for fuel and lights for Legislature.

11. Deficiency of appropriation for repairs of Capitol.

12. Deficiency of appropriation for support of the Deaf and Blind.

18. Deficiency of appropriation for per diem, etc., of commissioners to take sol-
diers' votes.

14. Deficiency of appropriation for Executive contingent fund.

15. Deficiency of appropriation for mileage and per diem of Presidential Electors.
16. Deficiency on account of boxes for the distribution of Session Laws.

17. Deficiency on account of approval of military bills.

2. When act to take effect.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Minnesota :

Appropriations for

SECTION 1. That the following sums of money, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same deficiencies. are hereby appropriated out of any moneys in the treasury belonging to the general revenue fund not otherwise appropriated:

1st. For deficiency of appropriation for the payment of the salary of the Adjutant General, two hundred dollars.

2d. For deficiency of appropriation for clerk hire in the office of the Adjutant General, two hundred and thirteen dollars and seventy-two cents.

3d. For deficiency of appropriation for postage, stationery, and other incidental expenses in the office of the Adjutant General, sixty-six dollars.

4th. For deficiency of appropriation for State Arsenal, rent of Powder Magazine and other incidental expenses connected therewith, one hundred and ninetynine dollars and eighty cents.

5th. For deficiency of appropriation for printing and advertising for State Officers, three thousand five hundred dollars.

6th. For deficiency of appropriation for printing laws and journals, eight hundred and, fifty-seven dollars and seventy-two cents.

7th. Fordeficiency of appropriation for State Prison, eight hundred dollars.

8th. For deficiency on account of Board of Examining Surgeons, one hundred dollars.

9th. For deficiency of appropriation for the support of the Insane, five hundred dollars.

10th. For deficiency of appropriation for fuel and lights for both houses of the Legislature, and for the several State Officers, two hundred and fifty dollars.

11th. For deficiency of appropriation for repairs of Capitol, according to joint resolution of the Legislature, nine hundred dollars.

12th. For deficiency of appropriation for the support and instruction of the deaf, mute and blind of the State, three hundred and fifty dollars.

13th. For deficiency of appropriation for the per diem, mileage and stationery of the commissioners in obtaining soldiers' votes, twelve hundred dollars.

14th. For deficiency of appropriation of the Executive contingent fund for State purposes, three hundred dollars.

15th. For deficiency on account of mileage and per diem of Presidential Electors in canvassing the votes for President and Vice President of the United States, one hundred and fifty-three dollars.

16th. For deficiency on account of boxes for the distribution of Session Laws for eighteen hundred and sixty-four, eighty-eight dollars and fifteen cents.

Appropriations for

17th. For deficiency on account of approval of deficiencies. military bills, not payable from former appropriations, two hundred and three dollars and forty cents.

SEC. 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

An Act appropriating money for certain purposes March 3, 1865. therein named.

4. To Chas. Ross, for transportation and freight.

5. To Chas. Dorf, for cleaning Legislative Halls.

6. To John A. Stees, for chairs furnished Supreme Court Room.

7. To C. C. Miles, for locks, keys and repairing.

8. To Hugo Petzhold, for extra services in making out pension applications, etc.

9. To A. McElrath, for services as deputy clerk of the Supreme Court.

10. To Minnesota Staats Zeitung, for printing Governor's Message in German.

11. To Andrew C. Dunn, for printing Governor's Message in Norwegian.

12. To Chas. Nichols for transportation of committee on State Prison.

13. To George H. Oakes, for amount paid A. B. Dunn for services in State Library.

14. To Crumby & Berkey, for team furnished State Prison committee.

15. To Chas. Whitcher, for team furnished State Prison committee.

16. To L. L. Baxter, for services as prosecuting attorney of Fourth Judicial
District.

17. To John C. Wise, for advertising general orders.

18. To Pennock Pusey, for extra services in the office of the Secretary of State.

Be itenacted by the Legislature of the State of Minnesota :

SECTION 1. That the following sums of money or so much thereof as may be necessary be and the same are hereby appropriated out of any moneys in the treasury belonging to the general revenue fund, and not otherwise appropriated:

1st. To Pollock, Donaldson & Ogden, for spittoons furnished the Senate and House of Representatives per order of Secretary of State, seventeen dollars and thirty-five cents.

2d. To Henry L. Moss, for rent of building at St. Peter for storing State arms and ammunition from June twenty-fifth, eighteen hundred and sixty-three, to January twenty-fifth, eighteen hundred and sixty-five, in charge of Gen. M. B. Stone, seventy-six dollars.

3d. To John Matheis, for carpets, mats, &c., furnished Supreme Court room, one hundred dollars.

4th. To Chas. Ross, for transportation and freight upon arms and ammunition from St. Paul to New Ulm, twenty-five dollars and thirty-five cents.

5th. To Chas. Dorf, for cleaning Legislative Halls and repairs done in same, under order of the Secretary of State, two hundred and eighty dollars.

6th. To John A. Stees, for chairs furnished the supreme court room, for the judges, eighty dollars.

7th. To C. C. Miles, for locks, keys and repairing locks in Senate and House of Representatives, twentyfour dollars and ninety cents.

8th. To Hugo Petzhold, for extra services, in making out pension applications, and applications for back pay and bounties, in Adjutant General's office, two hundred dollars.

9th. To A. McElrath, for services in administering oaths, and giving official certificates, as deputy clerk of the supreme court, in pension and bounty cases, sixty-five dollars.

10th. To Minnesota Staats Zeitung, for printing five hundred copies of the Governor's message in German, fifty dollars.

11th. To Andrew C. Dunn, for one thousand copies of the Governor's message printed in Norwegian, and express charges thereon, forty-one dollars and fifty

cents.

12th. To Chas. Nichols for transportation of joint committee on State Prison from St. Paul to Stillwater, eighty dollars.

18th. To Pennock Pusey, for extra services in the office of the Secretary of State, pertaining to the Soldiers' Voting Law, and the care of the insane, and in arranging and classifying Territorial papers accumulated since the organization of the Territory, two hundred dollars.
