fen Knaben, von denen nur zwey sammt dem Schulmeister das Ufer erreichten; der Eine war so erschöpft, daß er etliche Augenblike nachber den Geißt aufgab. Der jammernde Schulmeister sab vom Ufer einen Knas ben nach dem andern untersinken: endlich rufte er in höchster Verzweiflung aus: „Wer wird diese grauenvolle Geschichte den Eltern der Knaben hinterbringen: Ich bin es nicht im Stande." Nachdem er einige Minuten mit sich gekämpft hatte, sprang er in die Fluth, und verschwand augenbliklich. Der übrig gebliebene Knabe erholte sich, und war der Einzige, welcher die Frau des Schulmeisters von dem traurigen Vorfalle unterrichten konnte. Die Erzählung machte einen so tiefen Eindruk auf sie, daß sie von der Vers zweiflung ergriffen wurde, welche bey den Hinduhweibern so gewöhnlich ist, und sich in einen Brunnen binabstürzte, wo sie ertrank, ehe man Anstalt zur Rettung machen konnte.
