henfibles, nor three uncreated: but one uncreated, and one incomprehenfible.

So likewife the Father is Almighty, the Son Almighty, and the Holy Ghost Almighty.

And yet they are not three Almighties but one Almighty.

So the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Ghost is God.

And yet they are not three Gods, but one God.

So likewife the Father is Lord, the Son Lord, and the Holy Ghost Lord.

And yet not three Lords, but one Lord, 1 John 5.7. Rev. 8. 1. 1 Cor. 8. 5, 6.

For like as we are compelled by the Chriftian verity, to acknowledge every perfon by himself to be God and Lord.

So are we forbidden by the Catholick Religion, to fay, there be three Gods, or three Lords, Rev. 4. 8. Heb. 1. 3. Rom. 11.36. I John 5. 7.

The Father is made of none: neither created nor begotten..

The Son is of the Father alone: not made, nor created, but begotten, John I. 14.

18.

The Holy Ghoft is of the Father, and of the Son: neither made, nor created,

nor

nor begotten, but proceeding, John 14. 26. John 15. 26. ̄

So there is one Father, not three Fathers: one Son, not three Sons: one Holy Ghoft, not three Holy Ghofts, Eph. 4. 6. John 3. 16. Ephef. 4. 4.

And in this Trinity none is afore, or af ter other none is greater, or lefs then another;

But the whole three Perfons are coeternal together, and co-equal, John 10: 30. Phil. 2. 6. 1 John 5. 7.

So that in all things, as is aforefaid: the Unity in Trinity, and the Trinity in Unity is to be worshiped, Rom. II. and 36. 1 John 2. 22, 23. Rev. 4. 8. Isa. 6. 3.' He therefore, that will be faved: muft thus think of the Trinity.

Furthermore, it is necellary to everla fting falvation that he alfo believe rightly the Incarnation of our Lord Jefus Chrift, 1 John 4.2, 3.

For the right Faith is, that we believe and confefs that our Lord Jefus Chrift, the Son of God, is God, and Man, I Tim. 2.5. John 1. 14, 1.Tim. 3. 16. Phil. 2.6,7.

God of the fubftance of the Father, begotten before the worlds: and Man of the fubftance of his Mother, born in the world.

"Perfect God, and perfect Man; of a reafonable foul, and humane flesh subsisting, Heb. 1.2, 3. John 1. 18. Mich. 5. 2. Gal. 4. 4. Mar. 1. 25.

Equal to the Father, as touching his Godhead and inferiour to the Father, as touching his Manhood, John 10 30. John 14. 28. Phil. 2. 6, 7.

Who although he be God, and Man: yet he is not two, but one Chrift, 1 Tim. 2. 5.

One; not by converfion of the Godhead into flesh but by taking of the Manhood into God, Heb. 2. 16. Gal. 4. 4. John I. 24.

One altogether; not by confusion of subftance: but by unity of perfon.

For as the reasonable foul and flesh is one Man fo God and Man is one Christ.

Who fuffered for our falvation: defcended into Hell, rofe again the third day from the dead, Heb. 9. 24, 25, 26, 27, 28. 1 Pet. 4. I. I Pet. 2. 21, 22, 22, 24. 1 Pet. 4. 18, 19. Ephef. 4. 9. Acts 2. 31, 32. I Cor. 15. 3, 4.

He afcended into Heaven, he fitteth on the right hand of the Father, God Almighty: from whence he fhall come to judge the quick and the dead, Ephef. 4. 8,

9, 10. Heb. 12. 2. Acts 10. 42. Acts 17. 31.7 At whofe coming all Men fhall rife again with their Bodies and fhall give account for their own works, Rom. 14. 9, 10. 2 Cor. 5. 10.

And they that have done good, fhall go into life everlafting and they that have done evil, into everlafting fire, Mar. 25. 46.

This is the Catholick Faith: which, except a man believe faithfully, he can not be faved.

Prieft. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, &c.

People. As it was in the beginning, &c.

Here followeth the Litany or general fupplication to be fung or faid after Morning Prayer upon Sundays, Wednesdays and Frydays, and at other times when it shall be commanded by the Ordinary.

O

God the Father of heaven: have mercy upon us miferable finners, Fob 38. 18. Jam. 1. 17. Pfal. 124. 8. Pfal. 51. i. People. O God the Father, &c.

The reason why have mercy upon us fo of ten repeated in this Litany; is because it is agreeable to Scripture, Pfal. 136. 1 Chron: 16. 41.

Prieft.

A Prayer for the Royal Family.

Almighty God, the fountain of all good

nefs, &c.

A Prayer for the Clergy and People. ALmighty and everlafting God, who

alone workest great marvels; &c.

A Prayer of St. Chryfoftom.

Almighty God, who haft given us grace

at time, &c.

The Four forementioned Prayers are not here printed at length, because most of them, as to the matter and fubftauce of them, will fall within the Litany, which will be warranted by Scripture fufficiently. But here let it be noted, that we pray in particular for Kings, in pursuance of that Precept of the Apoftle, 1 Tim. 2. 1, 3. which is preffed and urged with this reafon, that we may lead quiet and peaceable lives in all godliness and Lonefty.

We pray for the Church, which is excellently defcribed by Bishops, Curates, and the People committed to their charge, all which make up a Church rightly conftituted; and Ignatius the Dif ciple of St. John the Evangelift, tells us, that there can be no truly conftituted Church without a Bifhop. By Curates here are not meant Stipendaries, but all Minifters to whom the Bishop hath committed the cure and care of Souls.

For the right conftituting of a Church, and for preferving of it when it is conftituted and setled,
