We pray for the healthful Spirit of God's Grace to be poured down upon all, who profess Christa · and embrace Christianity with Sincerity. The terms wherein we pray may fee'm ftrange, in rc. gard we present our Prayers to the Almighty and everlasting God, who only porketh great Marvels;

but this expression hath a peculiar reference to 20

Gods sending down of his holy Spirit upon the Apoftles, whereby they were enabled to lpeak in all Languages the wonderful works of God, A&, 2.11, and to confirm that Doctrinę by Miracles, which they taught the World.

The Prayer of St. Chryfoftom, who lived about the Fourth Century, is grounded upon Mat. 18. V, 19. 20. and may be met with Word for Word i in his Liturgy.

We begin and end the Morning Service with the Apostle; as we begin the Exhortation in an

Apoftolical Stile. so we conclude the Prayers with an Apoftolical Prayer; and conclude most of our Prayers and Collects with this clause, Through Fee fus Christ our Lord, because there is no coming to God but by Christs what we ask ( as we ought ) in his Name, God will give us for his sake. He is our Facebs Ladder, by whom our Prayers ascend

to God, and Gods blessings descends to us; all good things come from God the Father, through Jesus Christøur Lord.

Morning , only here are two Collects to be taken notice of, which are not in the Morning Service ; ás also the Hymns and Psalms after the first and second Leffon.

After this the Creed, the leffer Litany, the Lords Prayer, and the following Responses, all to be ranked and placed in that order as they ft and in the Evening Service, without either Scriptural Notes, after this follows the Collet for the day, and then tto orber Colleet's

What remains of the Evening Service, is the

Same with that of the Morning, and concludes in the same manner.

Here follows the Creed of St. Athanasius. Upon these Feafts ; Christmas-day, the Epiphany, St. Matthias, Easter-day; As cension-day; Whitsunday, St. John Baptist, St. James, St. Bartholomew, St. Matthew, St. Simon and St. Jude; St. Andrew, and upon Trinity-Sunday, shall be sung said at Morning Prayer, instead of the

Neither confounding the persons : not dividing the substance.

For there is one person of the Father, another of the Son, and another of the e Holy Ghost.

But the Godhead of the Father, of the 3 Son, and of the Holy Ghost is all one: the 1 Glory equal, the Majesty co-eternal:

The Father uncreate, the Son uncreate, and the Holy Ghost uncreate, Gen. I. 2. 3:

The Father incomprehensible, the Son incomprehensible, and the Holy Ghost incomprehensible; 1 Tim. 6. 16.

The Father eternal, the Son eternal, and the Holy Ghost eternal, Deut. 33. 27. Psal. 90. 2.

And yet they are not three eternals, but one eternal. As also there are not three incomprem
