With an acquiescence that raised no question, and a readiness that showed no reluctance, she turned at the voice of her Beloved from her sorrowing husband and precious children, the influence of position, and the refinement and wealth of rank, and went to mingle her praises and services with those who wonder and worship before the throne of their Immanuel, and crown Him. Lord of all. There they "hunger no more, neither thirst any more, neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat: for the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of water, and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes."

NE of the mysteries of Providence is

ON

the prolonged and painful suffering to which young persons are often subjected. Frequently, when on the threshold of early manhood or womanhood, and about to enter on life's work, a sudden accident or disease overtakes them, and years are passed in helplessness and suffering.

I have under visitation a Christian lady with whom this was the case twenty years ago, and who from that time till now has been a constant sufferer, and to an extent which no words are sufficient to express. At the moment the accident befel her, which has resulted in such lengthened and painful experiences, she was stepping into womanhood, bright with hope and full of promise for the future.
