Who 24, 27, 28. unchange- needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for His own sins, and then for the people's: for this He did once, when He offered up Himself. For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, Who is consecrated for evermore. His one sacrifice perfect. His presence in the holy place for us. For every high priest is ordained to offer Heb. viii. 3 gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of neces sity that this man have somewhat also to ix. But Christ being come an high priest of Heb. good things to come, by a greater and more 11, 12, 14. perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood He entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? Now of the things which we have spoken Heb. viii. 1 this is the sum: We have such an High Priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; For Christ is not entered into the holy Heb.ix. 24 places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to Whither the Forerunner is for us entered, Heb. vi. 20 5, 6. His For there is one God, and one Mediator 1 Tim. ii. mediation between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus: Who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. His saving power. His Wherefore He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them. Heb. vii. 25. Heb. ii. 17, 18. 14-16. Wherefore in all things it behoved Him to sympathy be made like unto His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself hath suffered being tempted, He is able to succour them that are tempted. Seeing then that we have a great High Heb. iv Priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an High Priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. His priesthood the reason for our fidelity and devotion. Minister. DOXOLOGY.
