DEVOUT ASPIRATIONS.

O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Thy name in all the earth! who hast set Thy glory above the heavens. Ps. viii. 1. And blessed be Thy glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise. Neh. ix. 5, Unto Thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto Thee do we give thanks: for that Thy name is near, Thy wondrous works declare. Ps. lxxv. 1. For who in the heaven can be compared unto the Lord? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the Lord? Thou hast a mighty arm: strong is Thy hand, and high is Thy right hand. Ps. lxxxix. 6, 13. Our God is in the heavens: He hath done whatsoever He hath pleased. Ps. cxv. 3. For Thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. Rev. iv. 11. Thou hast granted me life and favour, and Thy visitation hath preserved my spirit. Job x. 12. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. Eph. i. 3. For of Him, and through Him, and to Him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen. Rom. xi. 36.

God is the

eternal.

Thus saith the Lord, the King of Israel, and (Is.xliv. His Redeemer the Lord of Hosts; I am the 6. first, and I am the last; and beside Me there

is no God.

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and Rev. i. the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

For thus saith the high and lofty One that Is. Ivii. inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I

dwell in the high and holy place.

For He is the living God, and stedfast for ever, and His kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and His dominion shall be even unto the end.

Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
and Thy dominion endureth throughout all
generations.

The Lord shall reign for ever, even thy
God, O Zion, unto all generations.

His work is honourable and glorious; and
His righteousness endureth for ever.

The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, and mercy saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everare eternal. lasting love: therefore with loving-kindness

His word is

have I drawn thee.

The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear Him, and His righteousness unto children's children.

The glory of the Lord shall endure for Ps. civ. ever: the Lord shall rejoice in His works.

Of old hast Thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of Thy hands. My days are like a shadow that declineth; Ps. cii. and I am withered like grass. But Thou, O 11, 12. Lord, shalt endure for ever; and Thy remembrance unto all generations.

Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men. For a thousand years in Thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow.
