And what nation is there so great, that Duet. iv. 8. hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day? Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life; but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons: This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayst observe to do according to all that is written therein; for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Be ye mindful always of His covenant; the word which He commanded to a thousand generations. Give ear, O My people, to My law: incline your ears to the words of My mouth. Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck. When thou goeth, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it Josh. i. 8. 1 Chron. xvi. 15. Pslm. lxxviii. 1. Prov. vi. 21, 23.
