GOD fo loved the world, that

For God fent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be faved. This parable fpake Jefus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he fpake unto them. For the Epift'e. Rev. 4. I. FTER this I looked, and A hehold, a door was opened

in heaven and, the first voice which I heard, was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which faid, Come up hither, and I will fhew thee things which must be her after. And immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne was fet in hea

And round about the throne were four and twenty feats; and upon the feats I faw four and twenty elders fitting clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold. And out of the throne proceeded lightnings, and thunderings, and voices. And there were feven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the feven Spirits of God. And before the throne there was a fea of glafs, like unto chryftal; and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beafts full of eyes before and behind: and the first beaft was like a lion, and the fecond beaft like a calf, and the third beaft had a face as a man, and the fourth beaft was like a flying eagle. And the four beafts had

each of them fix wings about him; and they were full of eyes within; and they reft not day and night, faying, Holy, holy, holy Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. And when thofe beats give glo ry and honour and thanks to him that fat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever, the four and twenty elders fall down be. fore him that fat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever; and caft their ing, Thou art worthy, O Lord, crowns before the throne, fay to receive glory and honour and

Nicodemus faith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the fecond time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jefus anfwered, Verily verily I fay unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God: That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit, is Spirit. Marvel not that I faid unto thee, Ye must be born again: the wind bloweth where it lifteth, and thou heareft the found thereof, but can't not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth; fo is every one that is born of the Spirit. Nicodemus anfwered and faid unto him, How can thefe things be? Jefus anfwered and faid unto him, Art thou a master of Ifrael, and knoweft not these things? Verily verily I fay unto thee, We fpeak that we do know, and teftify that we have feen; and ye receive not our witness. If I have told you earthly things, and ye be lieve not; how fhall ye believe if I tell you of heavenly things? And no man hath afcended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man, which is in heaven. The Epiftle. 1 S. John 4. 7. Beloved, let us love one an

other for love is of God; and every one that loveth, is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not, knoweth not God: for God is love. In this was manifefted the love of God towards us, because that, God fent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and fent his Son to be the propitiation for our fins. Beloved, if God fo loved us, we ought alfo to love one another. No man hath feen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given. us of his Spirit. And we have feen and do teftify, that the Father fent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. Whosoever fhall confefs that Jefus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love, dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldnefs in the day of judge

We Jove him, because he first loved us. If a man fay, I love God, and bateth his brother, he is a lyar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath feen, how can he love God whom he hath not feen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God, love his brother alfo.

Whofoever hateth his brother, is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
