Statistics of the Sabbath Schools, gathered by the Sabbath School Committee of the Board of Publication, were referred without reading to the Committee on Sabbath Schools.

The report of the committee to modify the article of the Testimony on Secretism was read, and its consideration was made the first order of the day for this afternoon.

Some time was spent in devotional exercises under the direction of the Moderator.

The Committee on Correspondence presented a partial report which was adopted. It is as follows:

PARTIAL REPORT ON CORRESPONDENCE.

The Committee on Correspondence would recommend that the second order of this afternoon be the hearing of Rev. Oliver Johnson, fraternal delegate from the Associate Reformed Synod of the South.

A communication from T. W. Hathaway, D.D., General Secretary of the American Sabbath Union, was referred without reading to the Special Committee on Reform.

The report of the Committee on Statistics was read and adopted. It is as follows:

REPORT ON STATISTICS.

The efficient work of A. G. Wallace, D.D., the Second Clerk of the General Assembly, is so highly commendable that little is left for suggestion on the part of your committee. We would particularly commend the Summaries and Table of Percentages as of great value, and worthy of more attention than is often given them.

Your committee would recommend one change in the order of the statistical tables, namely, the placing of the presbyteries in Egypt and India, at the close of the record of American presbyteries. The principal reason for this change is that it will bring the foreign work into a more compact record, which will make it easier to use for study and comparison.

The report of the Managers of Xenia Theological Seminary was read and referred to the Committee on Theological Seminaries.

A letter from Wm. I. Phillips, General Secretary of the National Christian Association, was read and referred to the Committee on Correspondence.

The report of the Trustees of the General Assembly was read and adopted.

The report of the Trustees of the Reed estate was read and adopted.
