ISAIAH xxv. 9. Lo, this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us : This is the LORD; we have waited for Him, we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.

PSALM lxxxv. 9. For His salvation is nigh them that fear Him : that glory may dwell in our land.

10. Mercy and truth are met together : righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

II. Truth shall flourish out of the earth : and righteousness hath looked down from heaven. ISAIAH xxv.

9. This is the LORD ; we have waited for Him, we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.

St. Luke i. 68. Blessed be the LORD God of Israel : for He hath visited and redeemed His people. Amen.

My God, I love Thee; not because

I hope for heaven thereby,
Nor yet because who love Thee not

Are lost eternally.
Thou, O my Jesus, Thou didst me

Upon the Cross embrace;
For me didst bear the nails, and spear,

And manifold disgrace,
And griefs and torments numberless,

And sweat of agony ;
Yea, death itself; and all for me

Who was Thine enemy.
Then why, O Blessèd Jesu CHRIST,

Should I not love Thee well ?
Not for the sake of winning heaven,

Nor of escaping hell;
Not from the hope of gaining aught,

Not seeking a reward ;
But as Thyself hast loved me,

O ever-loving LORD.
So would I love Thee, dearest LORD,

And in Thy praise will sing ;
Solely because Thou art my God,
And my most loving King. Amen.

G. J. Bennett.

1900 On the morn of Easter day, From the tomb wherein He lay,

Christ our Hope rose gloriously; Trampling down th'infernal king, Hell and Satan vanquishing,

He return'd victoriously.
When the risen LORD was seen,
Blessed Mary Magdalene

Was the herald whom He chose :
On the glorious errand sent,
To His brethren straight she went,

Bearing joy to end their woes.
O thrice blessed eyes, that first,
When the chains of death were burst,
Sin destroyed and Satan quell'd,
CHRIST, the King of all, beheld!
This was she who was of old
Lost in sin so manifold,
But, at Jesu's feet, obtain'd
Grace to pardon all that stain'd.
Lips deploring, heart adoring,
Are the proving of her loving

Jesu more than all the rest;
Whom she worshipp'd, fully knowing
She receiv'd from His bestowing

Pardon for her troubled breast.

Marys twain, with news of gladness,
Freed the Church of God from sadness;
One was the Virgin Mother, one
The Saint whom sin had once undone.

One the gate, whereby salvation
Enter'd in for every nation;
And one the herald, sent to tell
That Christ had ris'n, and vanquish'd hell.

G. J. BenneTT.

A few more years shall roll,

A few more seasons come;
And we shall be with those that rest

Asleep within the tomb:
Then, O my LORD, prepare

My soul for that great day;
O wash me in Thy precious Blood,

And take my sins away.
A few more storms shall beat

On this wild rocky shore;
And we shall be where tempests cease,

And surges swell no more :
Then, O my LORD, prepare

My soul for that calm day;
O wash me in Thy precious Blood,
And take

A few more struggles here,

A few more partings o'er,
A few more toils, a few more tears,

And we shall weep no more :
Then, O my LORD, prepare

My soul for that bright day;
O wash me in Thy precious Blood,

And take my sins away.
'Tis but a little while,

And He shall come again,
Who died that we might live, Who lives

That we with Him may reign :
Then, O my LORD, prepare

My soul for that glad day;
O wash me in Thy precious Blood,
And take my sins away. Amen. Blair.
