xxxiii. 17. Behold the eye of the LORD is on them that fear Him: and upon them that put their trust in His mercy. 18. To deliver their soul from death: and to feed them in a time of dearth.

19. Our soul hath patiently tarried for the LORD, for He is our help and our shield.

lxxii. 12. He delivereth the poor in his affliction, the fatherless and him that hath none to help him.

ISAIAH lxi. I, 2. He shall bind up the broken-hearted, and proclaim liberty to the captives, and comfort to those that mourn.

3. He shall give them beauty for ashes: the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.

II. For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth things that are sown to spring forth; so the LORD GOD will cause righteousness and peace to spring forth before all nations.

PSALM ciii. 8. The LORD is full of compassion and mercy. 10. He hath not dealt with us after our sins: nor rewarded us according to our wickedness.

II. For look how high the heaven is in comparison of the earth: so great is His mercy also toward them that fear Him. 12. Look how wide also the east is from the west: so far hath He set our sins from us.

O praise ye the LORD!

Praise Him in the height;
Rejoice in His Word,

Ye angels of light;
Ye heavens, adore Him
By Whom ye were made,
And worship before Him,
In brightness arrayed.

O praise ye the LORD!

Praise Him upon earth,

In tuneful accord,

Ye sons of new birth;

Praise Him Who hath brought you

His grace from above,

Praise Him Who hath taught you
To sing of His love.

O praise ye the LORD!
Thanksgiving and song
To Him be outpoured
All ages along:
For love in creation,

For heaven restored,
For grace of salvation

O praise ye the LORD! Amen.

I do not ask, O LORD, that life may be

A pleasant road;

I do not ask that Thou wouldst take from me
Aught of its load;

I do not ask that flowers should always spring
Beneath my feet;

I know the poison and the sting too well,

Of things too sweet.

For one thing only, LORD, dear LORD, I plead;
Lead me aright.

Tho' strength should falter, and tho' hearts should bleed,
Lead me aright, dear LORD, I plead,

Through peace to Light.

*O LORD, shew Thy mercy upon us, And grant us Thy salvation.

O LORD, save the Queen;

Who putteth her trust in Thee. Send her help from Thy holy place,

And evermore mightily defend her.

KEARTON.

Let her enemies have no advantage against her;
Let not the wicked approach to hurt her.

O LORD, save Thy people,

And bless Thine inheritance.

Give peace in our time, O LORD,

Because there is none other that fighteth for us, but only Thou, O God.

Ŏ LORD, hear our prayer

And let our cry come unto Thee.*

Collect for the Fifth Sunday after Trinity.

Grant, O LORD, we beseech Thee, that the course of this world may be so peaceably ordered by Thy governance, that Thy Church may joyfully serve Thee in all godly quietness; through JESUS CHRIST our LORD. Amen. (From "A Hymn of Thanksgiving," No. 3.) C. H. LLOYD.

LORD of our life, and GOD of our salvation,
Star of our night, and Hope of every nation,
Hear and receive Thy Church's supplication,
LORD GOD Almighty.

Field.

See round Thine ark the hungry billows curling;
See how Thy foes their banners are unfurling ;
LORD, while their darts envenomed they are hurling,
Thou canst preserve us.

LORD, Thou canst help when earthly armour faileth,
LORD, Thou canst save when deadly sin assaileth,
LORD, o'er Thy Church nor death nor hell prevaileth;
Grant us Thy peace, LORD.

Grant us Thy help till foes are backward driven,
Grant them Thy truth, that they may be forgiven,
Grant peace on earth, and, after we have striven,
Peace in Thy heaven. Amen.
