I CORINTHIANS V. 7. CHRIST our Passover is sacrificed for us,

8. Therefore let us keep the feast; not with the old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

ROMANS vi. 9. CHRIST being raised from the dead dieth no more: death hath no more dominion over Him. 10. For in that He died, He died unto sin once: but in that He liveth, He liveth unto GOD.

II. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin: but alive unto GOD through JESUS CHRIST Our LORD.

I CORINTHIANS XV. 20. CHRIST is risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept.

21. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.

22. For as in Adam all die, even so in CHRIST shall all be made alive.

Glory be to the Father, &c.

PSALM CXVI. 1-7. I am well pleased that the LORD hath heard the voice of my supplication. That He hath inclined His ear to me: as long then as I live will I be calling on Him. The sorrows of death came about me: the pains of hell gat hold upon me. I found affliction and grief, then on the Name of the LORD did I call: 0 LORD, do Thou deliver my soul. How gracious is the LORD, and how just: yea, our GOD is merciful. He guards the simple folk: I was in misery, He gave me help. To thy rest, then, my soul, do I bid thee be turning because the LORD hath rewarded thee.

PSALM XXXiii. 1-4, 9, 12. Rejoice, O ye righteous, in the LORD: yea, for thankfulness becometh you. Praise ye the LORD. Sing to Him a new made song with sound of harp and psaltery. For the word of the LORD is faithful: yea, and all His works are righteous.

speak, and it was performed: He did charge, and it was created. Blessed are they whom the LORD doth call His own.

PSALM XX. 1. The LORD give ear to thee in the day of thy trouble; the Name of JEHOVAH be thy defence;

2. From out of His dwelling His help afford thee, and from Sion send His strength for thee.

5. Behold, we will be joyful in Thy salvation, and triumph in the Name of the LORD our GOD. RHEINBERGer.

PSALM liii. The fool within his heart hath spoken, There is no GOD. Corrupt are they all become in their doings, and no man, none there is that doeth good. GOD out of Heaven mankind regarded: were there any that had understanding, and after GOD were seeking? They all are turned backward, and none there is that doeth good, ah! no man. Upon the LORD they have not called. In His wrath He hath despised them. Who gives salvation to Israel out of Sion? When God shall bring His own from captivity, then shall Jacob be in gladness, and Israel shall be joyful.

PSALM ii. 1-4, II, 12. Why assemble the heathen, and peoples imagine a vain thing? Behold, the kings of the earth stand up, and thus their counsel take, against the LORD and against His anointed. Let us then break their bonds asunder, and cast away their yoke. But from Heaven the LORD shall despise them: He shall laugh them to scorn. Serve the LORD with fear: praise ye Him with trembling. They are blessed, all, who put their trust in Him.

JOEL ii. 12. Thus saith the LORD, turn ye to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning;

13. And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your GOD: for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth Him of the evil.

EZEKIEL Xxxiii. 11. Turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

PSALM XXV. 16. Turn Thee unto me, and have mercy upon me, for I am desolate and afflicted.

17. The troubles of my heart are enlarged, O bring Thou me out of my distresses.

GOD of my life, to Thee I call,
Afflicted at Thy feet I fall;

When the great water-floods prevail,

Leave not my trembling heart to fail.

COBB, ELVEY.

O Thou most merciful JESU, of souls the blest Redeemer, grant to us, LORD, this our humble desire: By the agony of Thy sacred and pitiful heart, wash in Thy precious all-cleansing Blood sinners laden with heaviest guilt in their agony and now to-day in the pains of dying. Sacred Heart, once with agony smitten, O have mercy on all passing souls, O have mercy, JESU, on all passing souls! CHAMPNEYS.
