925 Psalm li. 2. Wash me throughly from my wickedness, and forgive me all my sin.

926 PSALM cxxxvii. 1. (Paraphrase.) By the waters of Babylon sat we down and wept, when we our Zion remembered.

2. And our harps, them we hanged on the willows in the midst thereof.

3. There did they ask of us singing, the same that led us captive ; mirth was required of us by them who vexed and spoiled us : Sing to us a song of Zion.

4. How shall we sing the LORD's song, sing it in a land of strangers ?

5. If I think not on thee, Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.

6. Let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth, if thou art not in remembrance, yea, if thou, Jerusalem, art not more to me than all my joy.

7. LORD, remember the children of Edom, in the day of Jerusalem, how they shouted, Destroy it, yea, down to the ground.

8. Daughter of Babylon, set for destruction, happy, who thee repays what on us thou wroughtest.

927 Psalm lxxxiv. 1. O how amiable are Thy dwellings, Thou LORD of Hosts !

2. My soul hath a desire and longing to enter into the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh rejoice in the living God.

4. Blessed are they that dwell in Thy house, they will be alway praising Thee. cxvi.

II. What reward shall I give unto the LORD, for all the benefits that He hath done unto me ?

lv. 18. In the evening and morning, and at noon-day will I pray, and He shall hear my voice.

cxlv. 2. Every day will I give thanks unto Him, and praise His Name for ever and ever.

cxvi. 12. I will receive the cup of salvation, and call upon the Name of the LORD.

13. I will pay my vows now in the presence of all His people : right dear in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.

15. I will offer to Him the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the Name of the LORD.

16. I will pay my vows unto the Lord, in the sight of all His people : in the courts of the LORD's house, even in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise the LORD. Amen.

928 PSALM Xxxii.

12. Be glad, O ye righteous, and rejoice in the LORD, and be joyful, all ye that are true of heart !

xxx. 5. For His wrath endures but for a moment, and in His pleasure is life for evermore; heaviness may endure for a night, but in the morning cometh joy.

xlvii. 1. O clap your hands together, all ye people, sing unto God with the voice of melody. Hallelujah. Amen.

929 PSALM Xc. 1. LORD, Thou hast been our refuge from one generation to another.

2. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever the world was made, Thou art God from everlasting, and world without end.

xxii. 4. Our fathers hoped in Thee, they trusted in Thee, and Thou didst deliver them.

5. They called upon Thee, and were holpen : they put their trust in Thee, and were not confounded.

xxvii. 8. Hearken unto my voice, O Lord, when I cry unto Thee: have mercy upon me, and hear me, O LORD.

10. O hide not Thou Thy face from me, nor cast Thy servant away in displeasure.

16. O tarry thou the Lord's leisure : be strong, and He shall comfort thine heart, and put thou thy trust in the LORD.

8. Hearken unto my voice, O Lord, when I cry unto Thee : have mercy upon me, and hear me,

II. For Thou hast been my succour: leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

*ISAIAH xlix. 13. Sing, O heavens, and be joyful, o earth ; break forth into singing, O mountains.

li. 3. For the LORD shall comfort Zion, He will comfort all her waste places, He will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody. Hallelujah. Amen.*

930 ISAIAH xlii. 10. Sing to the Lord a new song, ye that go down to the sea, the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.

12. Let them give glory unto the LORD, yea, and declare His praise.

Psalm lxxvii. 19. The LORD maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters.

St. Matthew viii. 27. He speaketh the word, and the wind and the sea obey His voice.

JUDITH xvi. 15. For the mountains shall be moved from their foundations with the waters, the rocks shall melt as wax at Thy presence: yet Thou art merciful to them that fear Thee, and put their trust in Thee, O LORD.

PSALM lxxii. 18. Blessed be the LORD God of Israel.

19. And blessed be the Name of His Majesty for ever and ever. Hallelujah. Amen.

931 PSALM Ixvi. 1. O be joyful in GOD, all ye lands: sing praises to the honour of His Name, make His praise to be glorious.

7. O praise our God, and make the voice of His praise to be heard.

14. O come hither, and hearken, all ye that fear the LORD, and I will tell you what He hath done for my soul.

8. He holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to slip.

St. Luke i. 26, 27. The Angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, to a virgin whose name was Mary.

30. And the Angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary, for thou hast found favour with God.

31. And, behold, thou shalt conceive, and bring forth a Son, and shalt call His Name JESUS.

32. He shall be great, and shall be called The Son of the Highest; and the LORD God shall give to Him the throne of His father David.

33. And He shall reign over the House of Jacob for ever, and of His Kingdom there shall be no end. Amen.

PSALM cxxvi. 3, 4. The LORD hath done great things for us, whereof we are glad.

6. They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

7. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

934 PSALM xxiii. 1. The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.

2. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures : He leadeth me beside the still waters.

3. He restoreth my soul; He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness, for His Name's sake.

4. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me.

5. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies : Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

COLLECT For the Third Sunday after Trinity. O LORD, we beseech Thee mercifully to hear us; and grant that we, to whom Thou hast given an hearty desire to pray, may by Thy mighty aid be defended and comforted in all dangers and adversities; through JESUS CHRIST our LORD. Amen.

Almighty and merciful God, of Whose only gift it cometh that Thy faithful people do unto Thee true and laudable service; grant, we beseech Thee, that we may so faithfully serve Thee in this life, that we fail not finally to attain Thy heavenly promises; through the merits of JESUS Christ our LORD. Amen.
