PSALM lxvii. 1. GOD be merciful unto us, and bless us, and shew us the light of His countenance, and be merciful unto us;

2. That Thy way may be known upon earth, Thy saving health among all nations.

3. Let the people praise Thee, O GOD; yea, let all the people praise Thee.

4. O let the nations rejoice and be glad; for Thou shalt judge the folk righteously, and govern the nations upon earth.

5. Let the people praise Thee, O GOD; let all the people praise Thee.

6. Then shall the earth bring forth her increase, and GOD, even our own GOD, shall give us His blessing.

7. GOD shall bless us, and all the ends of the world shall fear Him.

Glory be to the Father, &c.

Ixiv. 9. Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever; behold, see, we beseech Thee, we are all Thy people.

1. O that Thou would'st rend the heavens, that the mountains might flow down at Thy presence.

9. Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever.

6. But we are all as an unclean thing; we all do fade as a leaf.

9. See, we beseech Thee, we are all Thy people.

PSALM lxxi. 4. Thou, O LORD GOD, art the thing that I long for; Thou art my hope, even from my youth.

5. Through Thee have I been holden up ever since I was born.

10. Go not far from me, O GOD; my GOD, haste Thee to help me.

1. In Thee, O LORD, have I put my trust.

*Thou Judge of quick and dead,

Before Whose bar severe,
With holy joy, or guilty dread,
We all shall soon appear.

Do Thou our souls prepare
For that tremendous day,

And fill us now with watchful care,
And teach our hearts to pray.

O may we thus insure

A lot among the blest,

And watch a moment to secure

An everlasting rest!*

ECCLESIASTICUS xliv. 1. Let us now praise famous men, and our fathers that begat us.

2. The LORD hath wrought great glory through them by His great power from the beginning.

3. Such as did bear rule in their kingdoms, men renowned for their power, giving counsel by their understanding, and declaring prophecies.

4. Leaders of the people by their counsels, and by their knowledge of learning meet for the people, wise and eloquent in their instructions.

7. All these were honoured in their generations, and were the glory of their times.

8. There be of them that have left a name behind them, that their praises might be reported.

9. And some there be, which have no memorial; who are perished, as though they had never been born.

10. But these were merciful men, whose righteousness. hath not been forgotten.

II. With their seed shall continually remain a good inheritance, and their children are with the covenant.

12. Their seed standeth fast, and their children for their sakes.

13. Their seed shall remain for ever, and their glory shall not be blotted out.

14. Their bodies are buried in peace; but their name liveth evermore.

15. The people will tell of their wisdom, and the congregation will shew forth their praise.

O GOD, Whose nature and property is ever to have mercy and to forgive, receive our humble petitions; and though we be tied and bound with the chain of our sins, yet let the pitifulness of Thy great mercy loose us; for the honour of JESUS CHRIST, our Mediator and Advocate. Amen.
