PSALM XXXIII.

THE OMNIPRESENCE AND OMNISCIENCE OF GOD. 1. O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. 2. Thou knowest my down sitting, and mine uprising, thou understandest my thoughts afar off.

3. Thou compassest my path, and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.

Favourably with mercy hear our prayers.
O Son of David have mercy upon us,

FIRST COLLECT, FOR ACCEPTANCE OF OUR

PRAYERS.

ALMIGHTY God, regard we beseech thee this family, for whom thy blessed son, Jesus Christ, was contented to be delivered into the hands of

sinful men, and to suffer death upon the cross, and grant us to enjoy all the benefits of that his inesti, mable love, May we approach thy throne of grace with a lively faith in his mediation and intercession, and with true contrition for those manifold sins which caused his sufferings. Quicken us as thou art wont, and remove from us all coldness of heart, all wandering thoughts, and whatever offends thee, and grieves thy Holy Spirit. Thus with one heart and mind calling upon thee, may we be accepted of thee, through the merits of thy Son our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Or this,

O LORD, we beseech thee mercifully to receive

the prayers and praises of us thy servants who now
call upon thee. Behold, O Lord, we offer up our-
selves as living sacrifices to thee; and humbly pray
thee to accept us.
And as thou knowest our utter
weakness and vileness, and that we cannot of our-
selves think or will what is good, help us by thy
teaching to perceive and ask for what we more
especially need at this time, and give us every good
gift, that we may require, to make us truly thy
obedient children. Supply all our necessities out
of thine own fulness, and grant us both now and
ever to have the fruition of thy covenant love in
Christ Jesus our Lord, to whom with thee and the
Holy Ghost, be glory and praise, world without end.
Amen.

SECOND COLLECT, FOR A BLESSING ON THE
WORD OF GOD.

ALMIGHTY God, fountain of all wisdom, grant us by thy Holy Spirit to have a right judgment in all things, and especially in the truth of thy holy word, that being daily more and more built up in sound faith, and holy practice, we may adorn our Christian calling. Let what we have now heard with our ears, be sown in all our hearts. Especially, &c. Grant that we may be living Epistles of Christ, known and read of all men, having clear evidence of our own interest in the salvation of the gospel, and of the work of the holy Spirit in us, and giving proof of it to others by our increase in piety and the fruits of righteousness. Thus living to thy honour here, may we attain to thy glory hereafter, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
