W Hatever is likely to awaken men to the confideration of the great acknowledged principles of religion, cannot be unfeafonable. And when 'tis every man's concern, the meaneft, and weakest endeavours may be of fome use. The subjects of the following reflections are most of that kind, necessary to be attended to, by all forts of perfons; and so cannot be too often preft, tho' in different manners. The usefulness of the fubject matter, and the fmallness of the bulk,are two things which are wont to recommend a book to most readers, for which reafon, I may hope, this will be read by feveral, who suffer much better (because bigger) books to lye by them neglected. Some may poffibly give it the reading, as a new-year's-gift.
