P. B. V.

5 Nevertheless, my soul, wait thou still upon God:

For my hope is in him.

6 He truly is my strength and my salvation:

He is my defence, so that I shall not fall.

7 In God is my health, and my glory :

The rock of my might, and in God is my trust. 80 put your trust in him alway, ye people :

Pour out your hearts before him,

For God is our hope.

9 As for the children of men, they are but vanity :

The children of men are deceitful upon the weights, They are altogether lighter than vanity itself.

10 O trust not in wrong

And robbery, give not yourselves unto vanity :

If riches increase, set not your heart upon them. 11 God spake once,

And twice I have also heard the same :

That power belongeth unto God;

12 And that thou, Lord, art merciful :

For thou rewardest every man according to his work.

PSALM LXIII.

Deus, Deus meus.

1 O God, thou art my God: early will I seek thee.

2 My soul thirsteth for thee, myflesh also longeth after thee:

In a barren and dry land where no water is.

3 Thus have I looked for thee in holiness :

That I might behold thy power and glory.

4 For thy loving-kindness is better than the life itself: My lips shall praise thee.

A. V.

5 My soul, wait thou only upon God;

For my expectation is from

him.

6 He only is my rock and my salvation:

He is my defence; I shall not be moved.

7 In God is my salvation and my glory:

The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. 8 Trust in him at all times; ye people,

Pour out your heart before him:

God is a refuge for us. Selah.

9 Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie:

To be laid in the balance,

They are altogether lighter than vanity.

10 Trust not in oppression, And become not vain in robbery :

If riches increase, set not your heart upon them. 11 God hath spoken once; Twice have I heard this;

b

That power belongeth unto God.

12 Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy:

For thou renderest to every man according to his work.

PSALM LXIII.

A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah.

1 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee:

My soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee

In a dry and thirsty land, dwhere no water is;

2 To see thy power and thy glory,

So as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.

3 Because thy lovingkindness is better than life,

My lips shall praise thee.

PSALM LXIII.

A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah.

10 God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee:

My soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee,

In a dry and weary land, where no water is.

2 So have I looked upon thee in the sanctuary,

To see thy power and thy glory.

My lips shall praise thee.

P. B. V.

5 As long as I live will I magnify thee on this manner : And lift up my hands in thy Name.

6 My soul shall be satisfied, even as it were with marrow and fatness :

When my mouth praiseth thee with joyful lips.

7 Have I not remembered thee in my bed :

And thought upon thee when I was waking?

8 Because thou hast been my helper:

Therefore under the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. 9 My soul hangeth upon thee :

Thy right hand hath upholden me.

10 These also that seek the hurt of my soul :

They shall go under the earth.

11 Let them fall upon the edge of the sword:

That they may be a portion for foxes. 12 But the King shall rejoice in God;

All they also that swear by him shall be commended : For the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.

PSALM LXIV.
Exaudi, Deus.

1 Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer :

Preserve my life from fear of the enemy.

2 Hide me from the gathering together of the froward:

And from the insurrection of wicked doers;

3 Who have whet their tongue like a sword:

And shoot out their arrows, even bitter words ;

4 That they may privily shoot at him that is perfect : Suddenly do they hit him, and fear not.

4 Thus will I bless thee while I live :

I will lift up my hands in thy name.

5 My soul shall be satisfied as with a marrow and fatness;

And my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: 6 When I remember thee upon my bed,

And meditate on thee in the night watches.

Therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

PSALM LXIV.

To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.

1 Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer:

Preserve my life from fear of the enemy.

2 Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked;

From the insurrection of the workers of iniquity: 3 Who whet their tongue like a sword,

And bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words: 4 That they may shoot in secret at the perfect :

Suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.

5 They encourage themselves in an evil purpose;

They commune of laying snares privily;

They say, Who shall see them?

6 They search out iniquities; hWe have accomplished, say they, a diligent search:

And the inward thought of every one, and the heart, is deep.

7 But God shall shoot at them;

With an arrow suddenly shall they be wounded.

8 So they shall be made to stumble, their own tongue being against them:

All that see them shall jwag the head.

A. V.

We shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house,

Even of thy holy temple. 5 By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; Who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, And of them that are afar off upon the sea:

6 Which by his strength setteth fast the mountains;

Being girded with power:

7 Which stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves,

And the tumult of the people.
