Thomas Wiggin, died A. D. 1670, aged 108 years. He was of Carlton, in Craven. He was able to walk till near the time of his death, and was a very fair corpse.

Dr. Glyfon, died A. D. 1670, aged 100 years. He was phyfician to Queen Elizabeth. His afpect was venerable and engaging, and his hair very much resembled fnow.

Robert Montgomery, died A. D. 1671, aged 127. He was a native of Skipton, in Craven. He was born in Scotland; the oldest inhabitant of Skipton never knew him otherwise than an old man. He latterly obtained his living by begging, which he was able to do the year preceding

his death.

Mr. Cole, minifter, of Landawidnek, Cornwall, died A. D. 1683, aged 120 years.

Michael George, fexton of the above place, died in the fame year as the foregoing, aged above 100 years.

Guftavus Holme, died A. D. 1685, aged 132 years. He was a Dover pilot; was buried at Stoke, near Canterbury.

Stephen Rumbald, died A. D. 1687, aged 105 years, of Brightwell, Oxfordshire. On his tomb in the church-yard of that place, is the following infcription:

"He lived one hundred and five

"Sanguine and strong;

"An hundred to five

"You live not fo long."

Mrs. Ecklefton, died A. D. 1691, aged 143 years. She was a native of Phillip's-town, King's county in Ireland.

John

John Moorze, died A. D. 1698, aged 104 years. He was a pedling ironmonger of Lymington, Hants. He was remarkably fresh and lively to the laft, and could bear the fevereft weather.

Dumitur Raduly, of Haronifzeck, Tranfylvania, died A. D. 1702, aged 140 years.

John Bayles, of Northampton, died A. D. 1706, aged 126 years.

Monfieur le Mefuier, died A. D. 1708, aged 129 years. He was many years a schoolmafter in the fuburbs of Paris, and retained, in a furprising manner, a perfect use of his reason to the day of his death.

The Sieur Cafira, died A. D. 1710, aged 111 years. He

was a celebrated advocate at Bourdeaux.

Rachel de Bichois, died A. D. 1710, aged 107 years. He was a native of Rochelle. During the fiege of that town in 1628, by cardinal Richlieu's persuasions, she turned Roman catholic; and Louis XIII. to do her honour, dined twice with her at her pleasure-house, fix miles from the town, into which the inconveniences of the fiege had obliged her to retire. She was mother of twenty-two children.

Jane Scrimshaw, died A. D. 1711, aged 127 years. She M was born in the parish of Bow, and died in Rosemary-lane -work-house, London.

Jaqueline Fauvel, died A. D. 1713, aged 121 years. She was born at Cambernon, in Normandy, in 1592; and

married

married the park-keeper of the bishop of Coutance; and died in the village of St. Nicholas. She was able to spin eight days before her decease, and died of a fright.

William Wakeley, died A. D. 1714, aged 124 years. He was a native of Shiffnal, Shrophire. He lived in the reigns of eight kings and queens, and was buried at Adbafton, which is recorded on a fmall board affixed to a pillow opposite the pulpit in Shiffnal church.

Peter Torton, died A. D. 1724, aged 185 years. He was a native of Temefwar, in Hungary, a peasant. The remarkable longevity of this man exceeds the age of Isaac, five years; of Abraham, ten; falls fhort of Terah's, Abraham's father, twenty; and exceeds that of Nahor, Abraham's grandfather, thirty-feven.

Died in the year 1731.

Robert Briftow, aged 105 years. Briftow was of Stamford, Lincolnshire. He had loft his hearing, but enjoyed his fight, and other senses, to the last.

Duchefs of Tyrconnel, aged 104 years. She was fifter to the duchefs dowager of Marlborough, and a native of Dublin.

Timothy Coward, of Kendal, Lancashire, aged 114 years. Mr. Eaton, of Salisbury-court, London, aged ro7 years.

William Edie, aged 120 years. He was of Canongate, in Edinburgh, bellman. He had buried the inhabitants thrice. He was ninety years a freeman, and married a fecond wife after he was one hundred years of

age.

Died in the year 1731.

James Anderfon, of Stonehive in Scotland, aged 108 years.

Died in the year 1732.

Ifaac Finch, of Watford, Hertfordshire, leather-feller, aged 104 years.

Mrs. Simpfon, wife of Mr. Simpson, keeper of Bushy park, aged 106 years.

Mrs. Herriman, of St. Martin's Le Grand, London, aged 115 years.

Ann Rofs, of Leith, in Scotland, aged 118 years.

Mr. Cotfworth, aged 100 years. He was a watch-maker at St. Dunstan's in the Weft, London, and the oldest inhabitant of the parish.

Sufannah Beherns, aged 106 years. She was of Sherbourn-lane, London. Her mother was one hundred and eight years old.

Catherine Bayles, aged 102 years. She was of Northampton. Her father was one hundred and twenty-fix.

William Leland, aged 140 years. He was a native of Lifneskea, in Ireland. Though he lived to such great age, he never was fick, or loft the use of any of his faculties till the hour of his death.

Died in the year 1733.

William Hafeling, aged 112 years. He was the oldest penfioner in Chelsea college. He ferved in the parliament army, at Edgehill; under king William, in Ireland; and the duke of Marlborough, in Flanders. He married and buried two wives, after he was one hundred; and the third, who furvived him, he married at the age of one hundred and ten. Befides the penfion from the college, he was allowed a crown a week from the duke of Richmond and Sir Robert Walpole.

Anne Kerney, of Red Lion-fquare, London; a maiden lady, aged 110 years.

Mr Gundy, of Hyde-park-corner, London; a gentleman of large fortune, aged 116 years.

Mrs, Harrifon, of Hampstead, Middlefex, aged 104 years.

Mrs. Malton, of Reading, Berks; a maiden lady, aged 105 years.

Mr. Trufs, aged 112 years. He was of Clayhill, near Enfield, Middlefex. He was a foldier in the army of Oliver Cromwell.

Died in the year 1734.

Sir John Harmon Whitfield, aged 101 years. He was of Buckland, Dorfet. In 1700 he changed his name from Harmon to Whitfield, by act of parliament, on account of a large eftate left him by John Whitfield, of Yorkshire; Efq. Barton de Cuney, Efq. formerly an affiftant clerk of the Treasury, aged 100 years.

William Thurmond, Efq. aged 105 years. He refided near Carlifle. In 1645, he was in the battle of Naseby, and loft an arm by a musket-ball.

John Roufey, Efq. aged 138 years. He was of the island of Distrey, in Scotland. At the age of one hundred years, his fon was born, who afterwards inherited his eftate.

Sir John Lewis, of Northamptonshire, aged 104 years. Thomas Simpfon, aged 100 years. He was keeper of Bushy-park above fixty years. His wife died in 1732, aged one hundred and fix years.

John Burnet, aged 109 years. He lived at Broadwater, in Suffex. He married fix wives, three of them after he was one hundred years old; and died in the fame houfe in which he was born.
