and contempt of thy word and commandment;

Good LORD, deliver us.

In all time of our tribulation, in all time of our prosperity, in the hour of death, and in the day of judgement; Good LORD, deliver us.

We sinners do beseech thee to hear us, O LORD God; and that it may please thee to rule and govern all thy sincere worshippers in the right way.

We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD. That it may please thee to direct and preserve in the true worshipping of thee, in righteousness and holiness of life, thy servant our queen;

We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD. That it may please thee to guide her heart in thy faith, fear, and love, that she may evermore put her trust in thee, and ever seek thy honour and glory;

We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD. That it may please thee to be her defender and preserver, and to prosper all her righteous undertakings;

We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD. That it may please thee to bless and preserve all the royal family;

We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD. That it may please thee to illuminate all the ministers of thy gospel with true knowledge and understanding of thy word; and that both by their preaching and living they may set it forth and shew it accordingly;

We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD. That it may please thee to endue the lords of the council, with righteousness and understanding;

We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD. That it may please thee to bless and keep the magistrates; giving them wisdom to execute justice, and to preserve peace; We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD. That it may please thee to bless and keep all thy people;

We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD. That it may please thee to give to all nations unity, peace, and concord;

We beseech thee to hear us, good Lord. That it may please thee to give us a heart to love and fear thee, and diligently to live after thy commandments;

We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD. That it may please thee to give to all thy people increase of grace to hear

meekly thy word, and to receive it with pure affection, and to bring forth the fruits of the spirit;

We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD. That it may please thee to bring into the way of truth all such as have erred and are deceived;

We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD. That it may please thee to strengthen such as do stand, and to comfort and help the weak-hearted, and to raise up them that fall, and finally to give us the victory over all temptations;

We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD. That it may please thee to succour, help, and comfort all that are in danger, necessity, and tribulation;

We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD. That it may please thee to preserve all that travel by land or by water, all sick persons and young children, and to shew pity upon all prisoners and captives;

We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD. That it may please thee to defend and provide for all fatherless children and widows, for all that are desolate and oppressed, and especially all those that suffer for righteousness' sake;

We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD. That it may please thee to have mercy upon all men ;

We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD. That it may please thee to forgive our enemies, persecutors, and slanderers, and to turn their hearts;

We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD. That it may please thee to give and preserve to our use the kindly fruits of the earth, so that in due time we may enjoy them;

We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD. That it may please thee to accept our sincere repentance; to forgive us all our sins, negligences, and ignorances; and to enable us to amend our lives according to thy holy word;

We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD. Minister. Glory be to God in the highest;

Congregation. And on earth peace: good will towards men.

Then shall be read the FIRST LESSON, taken out of the Old Testament; and after that shall be said the following portions of Psalm cxIx., by the Minister and Congregation alternately, or otherwise chanted by the Choir; the Minister standing and the Congregation sitting during the Lessons; but all standing while the Psalms are read or chanted.

Psalm cXIX.

BLESSED are those who are undefiled in the way and walk in the law of the LORD.

Blessed are those who keep his testimonies and seek him with their whole heart.

For they commit no iniquity: they walk in his ways.

Thou hast charged: that we shall diligently keep thy commandments.

O that my ways were so directed: that I might keep thy statutes!

So shall I not be confounded: when I have respect unto all thy command

ments.

I will thank thee with an unfeigned heart when I shall have learned the judgements of thy righteousness.

I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly.

O LORD, thy word endureth for ever: it is more firmly fixed than the heavens. Thy truth also remaineth from one generation to another: thou hast laid the foundations of the earth, and it abideth.
