Ir is hoped that this Volume may be used by Heads of Families, who wish to give some short simple instruction to their Servants and Children; and also by Cottagers, as a book to read on Sunday Evenings. The Author has aimed at nothing new. Neither has he sought for difficulties, with the view of removing them. But his desire has been to bring before the reader some of those Portraits, which are sketched in the Sacred Volume for us to gaze upon.
