They also shall bring forth more fruit in their age; and shall be fat and well-liking.

That they may shew how true the Lord my strength is; and that there is no unrighteousness in him.

Let us pray.

O LORD, we beseech Thee, mercifully hear our prayers; and spare all those who confess their sins unto Thee; that they whose consciences by sin are accused, by Thy merciful pardon may be absolved; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

O ALMIGHTY GOD, Who hast built Thy Church upon the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the Head Corner-stone, send, we pray Thee, Thy abundant blessing upon Thy Church in this land, and especially upon the parish wherein we dwell. Give grace to Thy servants, the clergy, that they may faithfully minister Thy holy Word and Sacraments, and in their lives be ensamples to Thy flock. May all their efforts for the good of the bodies and souls of men, in the churches, schools, and homes of the parishes, have Thy gracious approval, and be crowned with Thy blessing. Dispose and enable those of whom they have the oversight to receive them as Thy messengers, to profit by their ministry, and to grow in grace. Make true religion to increase among us; and give to each of us in Thy good time a crown of glory that fadeth not away; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

MERCIFUL LORD, we beseech Thee to cast Thy bright beams of light upon Thy Church; that it being enlightened by the doctrine of Thy blessed Apostles and Evangelists, may so walk in the light of Thy truth, that it may at length attain to the light of everlasting life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

O GOD, our Refuge and Strength, Who art the Author of all godliness, be ready, we beseech Thee, to hear the devout prayers of Thy Church; and grant that those things which we ask faithfully, we may obtain effectually; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

O LORD GOD, who callest all Thy servants to be witnesses and workers for Thee, prosper the handiwork of all who in any capacity are striving to be fellow-helpers to the truth. Whether as teachers of the young, or bearing office in Thy Church, or in more private ways seeking to do good, may all labour as in Thy sight, and none labour in vain. Send forth, O Lord, a larger number of earnest labourers into Thy vineyard, and strengthen their hands to every good work; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

OUR FATHER which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses; As we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

SUNDAY EVENING.—THIRD WEEK.

O

PSALM XLVII.

CLAP your hands together, all ye people; O sing unto
God with the voice of melody.

For the Lord is high, and to be feared; he is the great King upon all the earth.

He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet.

He shall choose out an heritage for us; even the worship of Jacob, whom he loved.

God is gone up with a merry noise, and the Lord with the sound of the trump.

O sing praises, sing praises unto our God; O sing praises, sing praises unto our King.

For God is the King of all the earth; sing ye praises with understanding.

seat.

God reigneth over the heathen; God sitteth upon his holy

The princes of the people are joined unto the people of the God of Abraham; for God, which is very high exalted, doth defend the earth, as it were with a shield.

Let us pray.

Lord have mercy upon us.

Christ have mercy upon us.
Lord have mercy upon us.

Amen.

MOST HOLY LORD GOD, Who hast been witness to our lives and thoughts this day, be pleased to look upon us now in the face of Jesus Christ Thy well-beloved Son. Let the good desires we have felt and the works of piety in which we have engaged, be joined to His infinite merit and perfect work, and be thus graciously accepted by Thee, and truly blessed to our

selves and others. May our many short-comings and sins which we now sorrowfully confess, be pardoned for His sake, and repeated by us no more. Help us to retain some abiding advantage from the services of this holy day, and may all our lives hereafter be more fruitful of good; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

O LORD we beseech Thee mercifully to receive the prayers of Thy people which call upon Thee; and grant that we may both perceive and know what things we ought to do, and also may have grace and power faithfully to fulfil the same; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

LORD of all power and might, Who art the Author and Giver of all good things, graft in our hearts the love of Thy Name, increase in us true religion, nourish us with all goodness, and of Thy great mercy keep us in the same; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

BLESSED LORD GOD, Who givest Thy beloved sleep, we beseech Thee to crown this day of sacred exercises with a night of peaceful repose. May we lie down in the sure confidence of Thy Presence with us, and awake again to the consciousness that Thou, O Lord, still makest us to dwell in safety. When our life's day shall close, may we depart in peace and be evermore with Thee; through the merits and mercy of our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

THE grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Ghost, be with us all evermore. Amen.

MONDAY MORNING.-THIRD WEEK.

O

PSALM LXIII.

GOD, thou art my God; early will I seek thee.

My soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh also longeth after thee; in a barren and dry land where no water is.

Thus have I looked for thee in holiness; that I might behold thy power and glory.

For thy loving-kindness is better than the life itself; my lips shall praise thee.

As long as I live will I magnify thee on this manner; and lift up my hands in thy Name.

My soul shall be satisfied, even as it were with marrow and fatness; when my mouth praiseth thee with joyful lips.

Have I not remembered thee in my bed, and thought upon thee when I was waking?

Because thou hast been my helper, therefore under the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

me.

My soul hangeth upon thee; thy right hand hath upholden

These also that seek the hurt of my soul, they shall go under the earth.

Let them fall upon the edge of the sword; that they may be a portion for foxes.

But the King shall rejoice in God; all they also that swear by him shall be commended; for the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.

Let us pray.

ALMIGHTY GOD, our heavenly Father, Who of Thy great mercy hast promised forgiveness of sins to all them that with hearty repentance and true faith turn unto Thee, have mercy upon us; pardon and deliver us from all our sins; confirm and
