Of a Christian Mans Oath. A s we confess, that vain and rafh/wearing is forbidA den christian men by our Lord Jesus Christ, and James his apostle : So we judge, that christian religion doth not probibit, but that a man may swear, when the magic strate requireth, in a cause of faith and charity, so it be done according to the prophets teaching, in justice, judgment, and truth.

This Article contains Two Propositions.
1. We confess, that vain or rash Swearing is for.

prohibit, but that a Man may Swear, when the Magistrate requires, in a Cause of Faith and Charity, so it be done according to the Prophets teaching, in Justice, Judgment and Truth.
