If thou, being a Jew, liveft after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compelleft thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?

He will not regard any ranfom: neither will he reft content, though thou givet many gifts.

/Mat. xi. 21. Wo unto thee Chorazin, wo unto thee Bethfaida: for if the mighty works which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in fackcloth and ashes. v. 22. But I fay unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment than for you, v. 23. And thou Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, fhalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. v. 24. But I fay unto you, that it fhall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom,-John xv. 22. If I had not come, and spoken unto them, they had not had fin: but now they have no cloke for their fin.

6. Do ye thus requite the Lord, O foolish people and unwife? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and establithed thee?

v Amos iv. 8. So two or three cities wandered unto on: city, to drink water; but they were not fatisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, faith the Lord. v. 9. I have smitten you with blafting, and mildew: when your gardens and vineyards, and your fig-trees, and your olive-trees increafed, the palmer-worm devoured them: yet have ye not returned unto me, faith the Lord. v. 10. O Lord, are not thine eyes upon the truth? thou haft ftricken them, but they have not grieved; thou haft confumed them, but they have refused to receive correction; they have made their faces harder than a rock, they have refused to return.

x Rom. i. 32. Who knowing the judgment of God, (that they who commit fuch things are worthy of death) not only do the fame, but have pleasure in them that do them. Dan. v. 22. And thou his fon, O Belshazzar, haft not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this. Tit. iii. 10. A man that is an heretick, after the first and second admonition, reject: v. 11. Knowing that he that is fuch, is fubverted, and finneth, being condemned of himself.

y Prov. xxix. 1. He that being of ten reproved, hardneth his neck, fhall fuddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

2 Tit. iii. 10. A man that is an heretick, after the first and fecond admonition, reject. Mat. xviii. 17. And if he fhall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.
