The Great High Priest.

LESSON XVIII.

MONDAY.-Ps. cx. 4.-The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. TUESDAY.-Heb. v. 6.-As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

WEDNESDAY.-Zech. vi. 13.-Even he shall build the temple of the Lord; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne.

THURSDAY.-Heb. iv. 14.-Seeing then that we have a Great High Priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

FRIDAY.-Heb. vii. 3.-Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God: abideth a priest continually.

SATURDAY.-Heb. vii. 26.-For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

SABBATH.-Heb. x. 12.-But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins, for ever, sat down on the right hand of God.

MONDAY.-Ps. ii. 6.-Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

TUESDAY.-Ps. xxiv. 10.-Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory.

Ps. cxlix. 2.-Let Israel rejoice in him that made him let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.

THURSDAY.-Luke xix. 37.-And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen.

FRIDAY.-Luke xix. 38.-Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.

SATURDAY.-Acts v. 31.-Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a prince and a saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sin.

SABBATH.-Rev. xix. 16.-And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

LESSON XX.

MONDAY.-John i. 29.-The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world.

TUESDAY.-Heb. viii. 3.-For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.

WEDNESDAY.-Heb. ix. 14.-How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

THURSDAY.-Heb. x. 14.-For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

FRIDAY.-Heb. x. 26.-For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins.

SATURDAY.-Heb. xi. 4.-By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

SABBATH.-1 Cor. v. 7.-Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

MONDAY.-Rev. viii. 3.—And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer: and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.

TUESDAY.-Rev. viii. 4.-And the smoke of the incense which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.

WEDNESDAY.-Isa. lxii. 1.-For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.

THURSDAY.-John xvii. 9. -I pray for them I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. FRIDAY.-John xvii. 15.-I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil, SATURDAY.-John xvii. 20.-Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word.

SABBATH.-Heb. vii. 25.—Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

LESSON XXII.

MONDAY-PS. cx. 1.-The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

TUESDAY.-Acts ii. 30.-Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

WEDNESDAY.-Ps. xcvii. 1.-The Lord reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof.

THURSDAY.-Ps. cxlv. 13.-Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations.

FRIDAY.-Col. i. 13.-Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: SATURDAY.-Rom. xiv. 17.-For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

SABBATH.-Rev. iii. 21.-To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
