TUESDAY.—Prov. iii. 2.-For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

WEDNESDAY.-Prov. iii. 3.-Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:

THURSDAY.—Prov. iii. 4.-So shalt thou find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

FRIDAY.-Jer. xxxv. 18.-And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according to all that he has commanded you;

SATURDAY.-Jer. xxxv. 19.-Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me forever.

SABBATH.-1 Pet. v. 4.—And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

LESSON XXXIV.

MONDAY.-Ex. xx. 13.-Thou shalt not kill.

TUESDAY.-Matt. v. 21.-Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment;

WEDNESDAY.-Gen. iv. 8.-And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

THURSDAY.-1 Sam. xix. 1.—And Saul spake to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, that they should kill David.

FRIDAY.-Matt. xvii. 23.-And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry. SATURDAY.-Matt. xxvi. 4.-And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him.

SABBATH.-Acts xxiii. 15.-Now therefore ye with the council signify to the chief captain that he bring him down unto you to-morrow, as though ye would inquire something more perfectly concerning him and we, or ever he come near, are ready to kill him.

WEDNESDAY.-Acts xxiii. 16.—And when Paul's sister's son heard of their lying in wait, he went and entered into the castle, and told Paul.

THURSDAY.-1 Sam. xiv. 45.-And the people said unto Saul, Shall Jonathan die, who hath wrought this great salvation in Israel? God forbid as the Lord liveth, there shall not one hair of his head fall to the ground; for he hath wrought with God this day. So the people rescued Jonathan, that he died not.

FRIDAY.-Prov. xxiv. 11.-If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;

SATURDAY.-Prov. xxiv. 12.-If thou sayest, behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy life, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?

SABBATH.-2 Cor. xi. 33.-And through a window in a basket was I let down by the wall, and escaped his hands.

LESSON XXXVI.

MONDAY.-Gen. ix. 6.-Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man. TUESDAY.—Lev. xxiv. 17.—And he that killeth any man shall surely be put to death.

WEDNESDAY.-2 Sam. xi. 15.—And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uriah in the fore front of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die.

THURSDAY.-1 Kings xxi. 10.—And set ye two men, sons of Belial, before him, to bear witness against him, saying, Thou didst blaspheme God and the king. And then carry him out, and stone him, that he may die.

FRIDAY.-1 John iii. 15.-Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

SATURDAY.-Acts xvi. 28.—But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm, for we are all here.

SABBATH.-Acts xxiii. 21.-But do not thou yield unto them; for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, which have bound themselves with an oath, that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him; and now are they ready, looking for a promise from thee.

MONDAY-Ex. xx. 14.-Thou shalt not commit adultery. TUESDAY.-Lev. xx. 10.-And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbor's wife, the adulterer and adulteress shall surely be put to death.

WEDNESDAY.-Prov. vi. 32.-But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding; he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.

THURSDAY.-Jer. v. 7.-How shall I pardon thee for this? thy children have forsaken me, and sworn by them that are no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots' houses.

FRIDAY.-Jer. v. 8.-They were as fed horses in the morning: every one neighed after his neighbor's wife. SATURDAY.-Gal. v. 19.-Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness. SABBATH.-Matt. v. 32.-But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
