HAVE to-day mailed to you a cloth-bound copy of my Catalogue of Historical Collections of Rare Books and Manuscripts, Part I, to be sold by auction at SOTHEBY's, July 11th to 15th, which I venture to commend to your notice. To partly cover expenses, you may,

if you please, send me one dollar and fifty cents, in currency; or if the book be not of sufficient interest to you, perhaps you will not mind passing it on, together with this letter, to some neighbour or friend who has a weakness for rare Books and Manuscripts of this class.

Part II, also a five days' sale, is in preparation, the sale expected to take place before Christmas. Should you desire an early copy of the Catalogue of the Second Part (price $1.50, post free, payable when received), I beg you will favour me with your subscription order on the enclosed form.

For the convenience of Purchasers abroad who cannot attend the sales, and who have not already an agent in London, the following houses are named as a few among many accustomed to execute commissions at auctions.

Trusting you may find something worth ordering,

I am, dear Sir,

PLEASE TURN OVER]

Yours faithfully,

HENRY STEVENS.
